i saw this tutorial over on Emuforums. figured it'd help some folks get a copy of their BIOS from their console.

Some free email accounts are banned to prevent spam. Try to use some nonstandard e-mail or the one ISP gave you and you will register without a problem.
I would attach the files here but this board doesn't allow it unfortunately.

solis: Give me two minutes. I'll have the files ready for you to download in this post. Here are the files, quick-zipped into one file.

Hello Shendo,
Dam ok, I guess i'm going have to find a way make an account there. Btw do you know if that works on linux? And does Console capable of booting burned cds mean i can use a regular psx with a gameshark or must it be chipped ?

(Read my last post, where I stated I'd upload the files, and then *did* upload them, modifying that post with the link to directly download them)

BIOS merge should work fine with wine. If it doesn't i can give you the offsets so you can manually merge a BIOS with HEX editing. As for console I actually recommend the method you mentioned over the chipped psx.

Sorry. I wasn't in the greatest mood yesterday, and actually had been kept waiting on a few things that I shouldn't have been (not here, but here at home), so I was feeling a bit impatient. solis: Yeah, I recommend the Gameshark Lite, since you can buy a new (still factory wrapped) copy of it for a grand total of $10, and it seems to work perfectly fine. If you need further instructions... well, I know I posted some once or twice around here, so search for any posts I made containing "GameShark Lite" and it's sure to pop up somewhere... I haven't actually tried booting *homebrew* on a PS1, but I know it works perfectly fine for booting imports and a couple patched (translated) CD-R burned games, so the functionality should extend to homebrew just as well.

Hello Gamesoul Master,
Np. I have a gameshark CDX ver 3.3 with black card that came with it. I burned the psx .exe to a memorex cd at 4x but, when i tryied to boot it with the gameshark the screen remained a the load screen. The PSX i have is the newer model small one it's the spch101. Does anyone know if bios dumper works with that model?
I will try and see if i find your posts.

It should work. What software have you burned the file with? You could try to add the BladeLib app launcher to the disc and try then.

solis: I haven't tried it on a PSOne, as mine is long gone. Somewhere is my CDX Gameshark too, but I don't have that to test either. What I can tell you is that the Gameshark Lite *is* the Gameshark CDX, but with the FMV viewer removed, and less codes built-in. So they should work the same way. One thing to note which probably doesn't apply... I also use my Gameshark Lite on my PS2 for booting imports, and it works perfects fine. But if I try using it on my PSTwo (that would be my slim silver one), it never boots. What you must do with the Gameshark is... Start it up, get to where you choose to start the game with no codes enable. When it asks you to put in your game and hit X to start the game (pretty sure it's X, but it at least mentions a button to push), swap in your burned disc (meaning... swap without the PSOne knowing you opened the lid, however you may decide to do that). Then just hit the button to start game. Even though it thinks you never swapped in a game disc, it'll load it anyway (I guess because some people swap in their game disc before they get to that screen, so the Gameshark just assumes that if you didn't put in your game when it asked at the end, you must've inserted it earlier). I'm not 100% certain about the swap method on a PSOne, but I know on my PS1 I just kept the lid sensor down. There must be a similar method you can do with the PSOne. If you don't know how to already, you'll have to google it, because that's one thing I wouldn't know.

Hello Shendo,
I burned it with gnome-baker. So i have to burn it with BladeLib. Do i have to make a folder called target and place the psx.exe (bladelib one) in it. Where do i place the bios dumper.exe ?
