I listen that you want to work to Play Station 2 emulation ! Great! But I want only know a thing... it will based like pSX (reproduce "real" PS2 grapichs, sound, ecc)? And what trick you will use for set real console speed?

I have done some work on the PS2 emulation recently and I may have something to say about it soon, but for now PS2 is still quite a low priority.
As a little teaser though: pSX runs at least one PS2 game now (but please note - the released version does not, so please don't waste your time trying!).

Your also looking at possibility as well. While SOME emulators have actually emulated a PS2 and gotten results, those results are literally not up to par with anything done by PSOne emulation.
You have to look at one simple equation: How much of a CPU is required for dynamically recompiling 128bit data integers in a 32bit or even a 64bit environment? As of current not even the fastest Core Duos or Athlon FXs can even begin to get half speed. Remember the PS2 was a very low level computer to begin with, so basically to emulate the Emotion Engine CPU perfectly will require at least 10-15 times the original processing power given by the CPU to be emulated.
Case in point.
The PSOne R3100A MIPS CPU which runs about the area of an old Pentium 1 with MMX technology (about 75-90mhz), requires at least a 900-1200mhz CPU to get maximum speed in full software emulation with minimal hardware handoff (scaling and filtering for the video and basically using Dynamic Recompiling only and little to zero HLE or LLE emulation via actual PC hardware.)
Nintendo 64 emulators require at least a 1400mhz CPU and the best Project64 has very hefty requirements all across the spectrum.
In closing... until we see Quad Core 64bit CPUs or even a market level 128bit CPU you will not see very many accurate and moderately playable PS2 emulators that have few if any problems.

Has anybody tried PCSX2 yet? They've got a compatibility list which shows quite a few games as playable, but I'm not sure what their definition of "playable" is, since I haven't tried the emu out yet.
Like ePSXe, it looks to be pretty plug-in heavy though, so who knows if it needs a lot of tinkering to get one game to play from the next.
I'd guess that pSX Author wants PS2 emulation that, like PS1 emulation, requires no plugins to screw around with.

Very true. But... there are computers that can run PCSX2 at half speed or higher. Hell, with the proper settings, *my* computer can run PCSX2 at half speed with many games. But of course... we *are* a ways off from having computers that can run it at full speed (except for the occasional extremely fanatical built computer... XD). With decent settings, 10x the processing power of what's being emulated is probably a good idea of what's needed. It'll be a long time before anybody will be able to play PS2 emulators with those decent settings and get any good framerates... lol.
So basically... I'm pretty much in agreement with you whitetigerx7. We have a wait ahead of us.

I tested PCSX2 on my rig the other day and tried to run FFX-2 on it. With default settings the game itself ran in about 20FPS, add some frameskipping to that, and it's almost playable. However, FMVs ran veeeeery slow. I don't remember the fps, but it was really really slow. Took ages to wait for the opening fmv to play through so that I could actually see how the game itself played.

I've got PCSX2 too and I play 2 games (Rally Fusion and Half Life, going to finish the second)! But I never know why there are the option to set a PS2 bios, if i do this! Nothing happens! But I hope that you can make playstation 2 emulation to work in a future pSX2

Yes, it's been able to since the very beginning with the -2 commandline switch. Even though pSX is a PlayStation emulator, that doesn't limit it to being exclusively PlayStation.
