It has been a while since I tried it as well, and back then I thought it was a horrible resource hog, and that the screen looked like it didn't have all colours. However, this was long long time ago, perhaps I should give it another go.

Just joking.. can't tell one of those type of games from the other.

Haven't used it for a long time, last time was when I was doing some comparisons between it and pSX. The Duke Nukem games that are broken on pSX work in Xebra..
It runs extremely well for me but it's a bit fiddly to set up. I wanted to try the latest version today but it doesn't seem to want to run in my Parallels Desktop XP install..
Mika: Xebra really is two emulators - the package contains two executables, one with built-in reverse engineered BIOS and one that needs a BIOS image present.
When you start the executable named 'Arbex', the startup colours are different for some reason, I guess to indicate that you're running Dr. Hell's own BIOS emulation. I've never run a game using Arbex so that's all I'll say about it, I don't know how well it works.

That's what I've heard - it's supposed to have very good compatibility, too.

Hello Everyone,
Here is a little Compatibilty List for Arbex.

On "run2"
I have not beat most of these games with the exception of Street Figther Alpha 3 which run really well, i'm going to try and beat Resident Evil 2 on it and see how well it works.
All Games Are US-NTSC Bin/cue format. Castlevania STON - Sometimes screen does black. Dino Crisis 2 - Rating 95% Minor audio problems Legacy Of Kain - Rating 95% Has Slow Spots Megaman 8 - Rating 100% Metal Gear - Rating 20% Blacks out after elevator area when pressing select randomly Need For Speed 3 - Rating 98% Some time missing speedometer on restart race. Hello Everyone,
Just finished playing Resident Evil 2 on Arnex. Here's what happened!
Resident Evil 2 - Rating 50% Playing Claire's disc got a Black Screen 40 minutes into the game. (played on Run2)
And i don't know of a way to recover from the Black Screen so that makes this game unplayable on Arbex. I had so high hope for this emulator.

Thanks for doing this Solis.
Can you check for the same incompatibilities when using the Xebra executable with a real BIOS dump?
I'm guessing it will be more compatible - some hard evidence would be interesting.

I would not go for ARBEX in the long run, as you never know if Dr. Hell did not introduce bugs when emulating the BIOS. XEBRA is the way to go for comparisions.
The only game I got not working was Formel Eins 2000... but that does not work in pSX either (see some other thread ). It runs a Dragonball game where pSX crashes after intro just fine (the name escapes me now, though) And no cut voices in Theme Park World, EU version.

It can run Tekken 2 (PAL) straight from the CD. pSX hasn't been able to run any version of the game since 1.7.
Don't know how to kill that frame skip though. It reminds me of when you set MAME to auto frame skip in Tekken 2 arcade!
