I have an issue on 5:4 full screen. I try the 1.12 wip and the screen is fix. Why not release the 1.11a screen fix?

You should know by now that pSX Author doesn't release a new version unless there is some signifigant change in it. He only made that fix because someone brought it up after 1.11's release anyway to help them out.

What's the problem with using the WIP, then, kinghanco?

Can't report the games bugs on wips.

Since pSX Author isn't really *saying* that he doesn't want to hear bug reports for the WIP build, I doubt it'd be a problem. He must've said that before because he was actively fixing bugs for Dragon Warrior 7. Really, though... Is the aspect ratio bug really such a showstopper that you need to use the WIP? I doubt it'd cause compatibility issues, so it's not that big a deal anyhow

Well I won't use the wip then. Because I will report the problems that I find.
I just won't use the full screen as 5:4 for now. I will use the default full screen settings. "No correction" I don't see why I shouldn't anyway. I been using the full screen like this most of time.

No reason you can't use the WIP for games you're not reporting on, though, kinghanco.
I guess pSX Author now has the problem that he's supporting versions of the emulator for two OSs now. Although, apparently, the emulation cores are pretty much the same, there's a lot else that is OS specific - so there's going to be a lot more work to go into each new version.

Haven't read every page on this topic, but controller wise, i like to set mine up
W-A-S-D and O-K-L-; counter clockwise for analog and buttons, then q1-e3 for L1 L2 - R1 R2, z-c L3-R3, well i cant set A D or Z for keys whereas v1.08 lets me set this, no other versions tested but thought I'd mention it.

If you'd searched the forum, midir, you'd have found this. The problem has already been reported several times. Presumably, it'll be corrected on the next release.

There was some talk about SSE / SSE2 code earlier in this thread, and about its impact on older Athlon PC's.
I'm able to get the 1.10 version of pSX to work in Windows on my Athlon K7 1200, and the same version works in Linux through Wine -- somewhat. Problem with running through Wine, it leaves my panel at the bottom of the screen, viewable even in full screen mode, and when it exits, my screen stays in the same mode it was playing pSX in (800x600 instead of 1024x768).
But the 1.11 version -- no luck. Can't get the Windows version to work, can't get the Linux version to work. And yes, for Linux, I have the libgtkglext1-dev and libgtkglextmm1-dev libraries installed, but still no luck.
If I was reading the previous posts correctly, there may have been a WIP built for Linux *without* the SSE / SSE2 code? Is that still available anywhere? I would love to see *any* Linux binary that works natively on older Athlon processors.
Thanks for your hard work, guys!

The last Linux WIP that worked for me didn't save the settings, thus you'd have to reconfigure your joypad any time you start the emulator. Let's hope that pSXauthor doesn't compile ver 1.12 with SSE support. Otherwise we are a bit out of luck here.

Amano -- I didn't mean to cross any taboo lines here. But, since I was seeing problems with a certain generation of Athlon PC's (including my own) both in this thread and in other threads, I opened a new post trying to capture the basic outline of the problem and trying to draw new attention as a fresh posting. See here for further discussion: psxemulator.proboards54.com/index.cgi?board=support&action=display&thread=1176721595

AFAIK the only version that needed SSE2 support was one of the Linux WIPs. SSE2 may be needed in future for Playstation 2 emulation. However, Playstation emulation in pSX only requires MMX support, not SSE.
Certainly some people do seem to be having issues with v1.11 and the 1.12 WIP, but I don't think this is because of SSE support or lack of it.

Will DIABLO EVER be fixed so it will play correctly on the PSX? ? Will there be a fix for this? ??

Who knows, mastercontrol? No report on this game has been made since version 1.7 of the emulator. This is the second time you've posted about it: if you want it fixed, why haven't you made a current report? And read Things to Remember when Posting Reports at the top of this and every other page in this forum before you do so.
