Split from stranger90's thread

Lunar Silver star story complete, I am not sure of the scph number but it is the US release, has an FMV issue. When ever a full anime cut scene comes on screen it only is in the upper left corner spread out. Meaning that the entire bottom of the screen and the right side of the screen are black bars. You can see the full FMV but it is not taking the full screen of the emulator.

The game ID (the SCPH number would be the number of the BIOS you're using - if you don't know that, how did you manage to get pSX running?) is easy to find; it's on the spine of the jewel case, in the format S*** ######, where * represents a letter and # a number. If you don't have a jewel case, you should be able to find a file on the CD (usually in the root; sometimes in a subfolder) with its name in a similar format, S***_###.###; that name is the game ID.
There's nothing wrong with the way your game is displaying, if I understand you correctly: since pSX is an accurate rather than enhancing emulator, it doesn't stretch the image. So when the image is in a ratio/size that doesn't fill the screen, you get black edges where there's no image. A Playstation does the same thing (as all PAL users know), except that it centres the image where pSX moves the image to the top and side. You often don't realise this with a Playstation, because you're likely to be playing through a television, which will usually be set to crop the edges of the picture.
The problem with the image being moved to the sides rather than centred has been with pSX a long time and is well known - so there's no point in starting a thread about it. You'll just get into trouble again...
edit: grrr, got there first again, Ultima! You're not following me around again, are you?
It's common etiquette in almost all online forums that you read prominently offered information on posting before you do post, and make some attempt to do so as required. You just couldn't be bothered, and now won't even take responsibility for that.
Please enlighten me: just how were you 'trying to help?'
Edit: not to mention that myself, Ultima and stranger90 answered your query fully. The critical comments that were made about your post were more than justified, not an 'attack.' I would advise you stay away from online forums altogether if you can't take fair criticism.
Example:
Person A: Hm, it seems I might be lost... you see, I'm trying to find Time Square, but can't seem to find it... Anyhow, I like NYC, but too bad it's so hard to find my way around! Even the train system has me all confused
Person B: Indeed, you are lost. If you want to find your way to Times Square, you take [so and so] train.
Person A: Well you didn't have to attack me!
Honestly, that's exactly how your posts look like to me at this point. If you saw my saying "so there's no need to re-report it" as an attack, you should try to understand how many reports we've had regarding black bars and misalignments and such. It's enough to warrant its own FAQ entry, if that's any indication. Because the behavior is known, and universal across many games, it's not a compatibility issue that occurs exclusively with Lunar SSSC or EB, hence my coment.
If you had said my post had been less than helpful, then maybe you might've had a point, but even then, it's expected that people actually checked out the important links already.
Anyhow, this thread has been derailed for long enough. The last page or so have been mostly off-topic posts, so we'll just leave it at that.

Wrong thread indeed -- start your own thread if you need to report something new. You can find the game ID by browsing the disc from My Computer. But either way, the misalignment of the FMVs have been reported/acknowledged before, so there's no need to re-report it, I suppose.patrickp said:
kingranger, if you'd even bothered to read this thread through - or even just this page, you'd realise you should not have placed your post here. Someone else has already tried to hijack this thread before you (see above). It's stranger90's thread. The solution was also made clear above: you should have started your own thread if you couldn't find somewhere appropriate to post. The game ID (the SCPH number would be the number of the BIOS you're using - if you don't know that, how did you manage to get pSX running?) is easy to find; it's on the spine of the jewel case, in the format S*** ######, where * represents a letter and # a number. Well thank you. But attacking some one for simply trying to help seems a bit negative. I will refrain from posting to these forums in the future as to not make you guys upset.patrickp said:
You asked for help on a game, kingranger and, apart from posting it in the wrong place, gave almost none of the required information about the problem - certainly your post as it was is useless as a compatibility report, since it doesn't have enough useful information. It's common etiquette in almost all online forums that you read prominently offered information on posting before you do post, and make some attempt to do so as required. kingranger: You already acknowledged the fact that you might've made a mistake. How is us confirming that and informing you that it's a known issue considered attacking you? Heck, we even told you where you might find the game ID -- is that really attacking from your point of view?Example:
