I wonder if I should start giving warnings to people who don't bother reading the first post of a thread...

Hm. Maybe you should create a new category for members that post without reading wot they oughtta, Ultima. How about Illiterate Member? After serving a certain amount of time (or making a certain number of posts) without transgressing further you could restore them to the glory of being a New Member...

Deal with it harshly. Delete their membership and put a sign "Read rules next time"
That will deal with it

I think that might be a little counterproductive, seiferalmasy. I think the idea should be to encourage them to read for themselves, and maybe become contributing forum members, rather than bounce them out of hand.

That's something I'll never do -- it's too extreme, and I don't like it. It's too much work making a new group and such, but leaving warnings is much easier. Privileged users can see warning levels directly below the user's names, and if it reaches 100%... well, nothing happens, but obviously, we'll take action. So far, I've only given warnings to very few people, but none of which actually got them banned (well, besides uzumaki, but he was an annoying troll). Anyway... back to your regular program...

Zipping the save states (and the emulator being able to read them in zipped state). Might have been mentioned. Project 64 does the job ok.
Zipping will reduce the size of the quicksave by about 50%, I have only saved a small amount of times, aready it is up to 40MB

Does .cdz work for savestates? I thought it was only for disc images...

I wonder if I should start giving warnings to people who don't bother reading the first post of a thread... I'm guessing all this was directed towards me. Just being straight up with you people aren't going to read through 100's of pages from the past requests thread to see what was already requested. I actually ended up seeing this thread: psxemulator.proboards54.com/index.cgi?board=feedback&action=display&thread=1158798162and saw about how different ISO extensions was asked for a million times, but by then I had already posted that. Take it from this n00b I think you should post the don't ask for these thread first and the the future release thread below that.

laynlow: Can't do that. ProBoards lists topics in order of last post. Either way, if no one bothers to read the first post, I doubt they'd read a thread just because of its order. Heck, enough people conveniently miss the "Important Information" forum, and it's at the top of the forum index.

Hm, seems I've started something here with my mis-guided post! Sorry ! I think you suffer this because you have casual psxemu fans, who as you point out don't take the time to read up! The forum is quite extensive and therefore people probably just navigate poorly. If it makes anyone feel better, feel free to visit my multiplay BF2 server forum and cause havok! I'll take sometime to read up prior to future posts, sorry once more.
