Hmmm... I'm debating on whether or not staying closed source is good for the project. The problem of having a closed source project is once the author calls it quits, that's it. With open source the project has some level of a chance to be revived and continued on.

Open source with SVNs, forks, hacks, plugins etc.? no.
Delegating the source to a team of people willing to continue with the marvelous work he's done is the best option for pSXauthor.

I would say yes. I wouldn't mind another author making it able to load optional plugins. I've always wished I could use pokopom with this so that I would have perfect rumble. This emulator beats every other emulator's 'default' plugins any day. It would also be cool for other developers to incorporate some of psx 1.13's tech into their tech and vice versa so that psx emulation would be that much more perfect after all these years since it began.

It would be incredibly great to get this project becoming open source. This would only be the best for everyone.
And one of the principal reasons is that we cannot be sure if the author is still willingfull of improving the program, or if the author still have time for this... Releasing the code is what many are waiting to help the project of the best psx emulator WITHOUT plugins!
And it would help to repair much of the bugs in a minor time.
