ive dloaded an image of codebreaker. it loads and lets me choose codes. the problem im having is how to "switch" out the codebreaker "disc" to replace with the game "disc". im using daemon tools to do this. do i need to use another virtual drive within daemon?

My guess is that you can eject in pSX, unmount from Daemon Tools, mount the right game in Daemon Tools, and load the drive in pSX. I don't know though, as I don't have a Codebreaker to test with.

All you have to do is have pSX load a new image when the CodeBreaker asks for you to change the disc.
If the game you are trying to load isn't in bin/cue/cdz format, then change the mounted disc in whatever virtual drive you are using.. or just change the cd if you are using an original/burned cd.
Then just hit X and it'll boot the game, with currently enabled cheats.

Erf, I tried it myself, and it didn't appear to work, just hangs at the screen where it says that it's loading the game.

i tried using my LEGAL copy, but because im using daemon tools for my cd images and a normal cd drive for my LEGAL copy of codebreaker, the "cds" were on different drives. i know i could just burn my images to disks, ive tried and failed to burn(of course i was using nero)my images so in the mean time, i was just wonder what i should do. hence my post. so thank you anyone who tried to help. ill be looking into procuring alcohol 120(me thinks its 120 ) to burn with, so then ill be able to use my LEGAL copy of cb... k blackwar? ;D oh, thanks ultima for tryin out the copy i sent you. edit: think i might have found my answer if you have a gameshark or codebreaker disc? Then use it like you would in a real PlayStation. Just remember, when changing the disc or image [both can be used either way] use the Eject CD function in the File menu before loading the disc or image. edit2: tried both my LEGAL and dloaded copy of cb with above method, but alas it didnt work oh well. no cheating for me.

You could try a Gameshark v.5. That works for me, with the CB, it seems to load the game but stay at a black screen. There's also a few glitches when going through list of games, or viewing codes.

lol, jesus. first of all you made no mention of the fact that you actually owned it, you just stated that you d/led it. 2nd of all, to save yourself the hassle of burning all of your game images to disk, why not just make an image of the version you owned instead of d/ling one? alot of games that you d/l can be nackered and thus unusable. I myself have used nero for everything and had no probs with it at all. be sure that all of the settings are correct (read sub-channels, no error correction, ect).
on another note, if I am not mistaken, doesnt PEC (emulation cheating software) also have the option of using emus that doesnt support the emu plugin system? or was this a feature only supported by certian emus?

PEC only works on Emulators that use the EMU Pro plugin interface. pSX doesn't use plugins at all. Hence, PEC won't work.

For those that have may have done this wrong: - First you load pSX, and load the cheating disc [either a image or CD].
- Then you use the menus in the Cheating Software and select the codes you wish to use. (remeber if there's a (M) or "Must Be On" cheat, be sure it's activated)
- Now you navagate in the Cheating Software to where you need to load the game.
- Goto File > Eject CD to unmount (this is basicly like the physical removal of the disc in the PSX) the Image or CD. If you're using both CD and one CD-ROM, remove the disc. Or if you have 2 CD-ROMS load the other disc.
- Now load the CD or Image in the File Menu of pSX.
- Now in the Cheating Software tell it to proceed to start the game.
Right now there sould be a pause for the game to load. This may take a long moment, but it should load. Once it loads, enjoy the game and the cheating you selected. If you have any questions, go on and ask.
