At first,I gonna say sorry for my poorish English... But I really have a strange problem with pSX. I can't switch it into Fullsrceen.... The details is that pSX(I've tested 1.7 and 1.8) starts and runs well in windows mode, but as soons as I switch it to Fullscreen(Alt+Enter),the emulator goes to the left-upper of border and hangs... I found this word is repeating in the background window>>> Video:failed to restart and init device, try again in 1 second. MY Compter: P4-1.7/GF2MX400(Drive45.23)/WinXP-SP2/DX9-august2006 (As I've reinstalled the videodrive and newest DX9,but it doesn't work at all... ) I've asked for help in my local language emu forum, but no one knows the reason...because maybe all of them can switch fullscreen as usual......so here is my last hope Thanks!

Have you tried playing around with the vsync settings to see if they help?

ive a computer with same video card and everything ok. version driver 45.23?!? is it before WWII or what?... try by updating your video driver to latest (version 91.31)... I've struggled with nVidia's drivers for some time.... But it's a pity to found 42.xx or 6x.xx or 91.xx...neither of them can work. But Thank you all the same Have you tried playing around with the vsync settings to see if they help? Great Thanks to your advise! Oh....My God!I found the problem eventually. By following your advise,I played around with all the configs and found I should choose either of the available resolutions, other than use the "default"... Great thanks again! ;D Although the vsync is the problem, but your advise, playing around the configs really worked!

Sorry for my poor english...... Yes,the vsync is not the problem. To switch fullscreen,I have to set the NTSC and PAL resolutions manually. The "Default" leads me hangs... I've never notice that until your advise that let me "playing around the vsync" ;D

Yes, it's often a good idea to set the resolutions manually, ars and, in particular, to set them (apart from screen size) to multiples of the game's frame rates: e.g. 60Hz for an NTSC game and 75Hz for a PAL game.

75hz for a PAL game? Shouldn't that be 50hz? PAL sacrifices some refresh rate for higher resolution.

Yeah PAL is 50hz.

Yes, but a lot of monitors won't support a 50Hz refresh rate: 60Hz is the minimum. Since the actual frame rate for PAL (or AFAIK the TV refresh rate) is actually 25Hz, 75Hz works fine - I guess 100Hz would be the next option.
