I need help with the CEP program. I've done the steps said on the tutorial with Final Fantasy VIII using:
"Zell Max Speed" 30077D5E 00FF
"Zell's Magic: Cure" 80077CC8 6415
"Quistis Max Luck" 30077E8F 00FF
"Quistis' Magic: Cure" 80077E90 6415
.end
None of the codes work. I'm using psx 1.13

How would I add a new game to it?

chronicle2: I'll check into that tonight while I'm on here cleaning up things. jelloegg: Open CODELIST.TXT in a text editor and add it using the format you see the rest of the games added in. Once you start/restart CEP after doing that, your game and codes should be in the list. Edit: chronicle2: How are you playing the game? I mean... from original disc, mounted images, or inserted images? And if images, what format are they (cue/bin, ccd/img/sub, mdf/mds, etc)? Knowing all that would be extremely helpful in figuring out your problem.

Ouch. That makes things a lot harder. Also, I too have had trouble getting some codes to work in FFVIII. Try the Ultimate Card Code (which is very much underrated, as I mention earlier in the thread). If you really want those codes to work, read this post that I made earlier in the thread. Follow the instructions in it and post your results, and we can go from there into making some working codes for you.

What *exactly* are you doing when it says to insert the game? Or to rephrase, what exact steps are you taking after choosing the option to play the game with the selected cheats?
Note that this probably shouldn't have gone in this thread, since this doesn't actually relate to CEP.

You mean... to give yourself all/infinite magic or something? You could certainly try that kind of code out, as it may have a decent chance of working. The best thing you can do is try, right? Of course... refining all the cards you get from that one code should give you just about every magic you could want through other methods of refining. But I suppose it depends on where in the game you are, eh?

A few questions just to make sure im doing this properly: 1)what version of CEP are u guys using? 2) did u get it from this site: members.at.infoseek.co.jp/DrHell/labo/index.html3) i cant find the pSX in the Application tab in CEP. Im using 0.2.4 4) If my game isn't on the list, can u recommend a site which i can use to find it? The game which i need cheats for right now is Chrono Cross.

Yes, it was a version downloaded from DrHell's site, but we've taken the executable and polished the interface just slightly here. The download from DrHell's site doesn't have pSX because it's severely outdated. If a game isn't on the list, you can find cheats from Google, like this.

1) The modified version worked on by me and Ultima, although the original one contributed to this forum works too... it's the same as the original on that site, but adds pSX to the list (pSX wasn't even released when that came out, so it had no chance to be on the list). One user has complained that the version me and Ultima released (which hasn't been modified beyond cosmetic changes) doesn't work as well, though I've fully tested both versions and both work the same for me. Here is the link to that version. 2) (See answer to #1). 3) (Use listed version from #1). 4) CMGSCCC and GSHI are probably the best places to look for cheats. The first contains tons of official codes, and the second contains tons of unofficial codes. Edit: Pff, I see you beat me to the reply Ultima... LOL. As a note... my original mirror to the initial version isn't working anymore. I think I accidentally let that account get closed from inactivity (hard to remember all of them I guess). The other link is down too. This link is now the new link to use I guess. It contains the original program with the updated config files (with the old ones left intact of course).

pSX Author: Please update the links in the first post. As I reported before, both links are down permanently. To replace them, I think it'd be best if both versions are there. I found a newer update that me and Ultima did than the one I linked in my last post in this thread. This is the link to the original program, with configuration files updated for it. This is the link to the updated program, with (essentially) the same configuration files as above, but with the tutorial file updated to reflect the new names and such.
