My problem when I playing game using emulator is that when I saved my game and then close the application and then open it again it always says that my memory card is not formatted and when I format it my save game file lost. I can't continue my playing the game. But when I dont close the application and just reset it, the save game file and my memory card works fine. Pls help me. The game that I played was "tomb raider the dagger of xian". Another is that when I closed the apllication(emulator) my settings(menu bar > file) has set to default again. Can I saved it so that I will not apply and applying it again!?

This could give you a warning too... do not post a bulletin in two different places, hoping more people will see it then... cuz one will get deleted, and people will be more irritated with you than anything else.

It sounds like your computer can't write to the location that you have pSX installed at... make none of the files are read only (especially the .ini file).
Also, can you tell me the path where you have it installed? (maybe it is something to do with that).

I told him that already, in the original thread that he started. This being a duplicate, I posted differently here. This thread belongs where the original is... and therefore this one should be deleted.

I'm moving this to the right section and locking the other one. See if what GM and pSX Author said is what's really going on (which I also think is the problem too).

I cant find the ".ini." file. I only see the files like bin, rar, cue etc. Pls tell m e where I can find it. This is the path where my psx was installed>> C:\Documents and Settings\JNDā¢\My Documents\downloads\psx emulator <<<You said that make none of the files are read only, is it on its properties?and then attributes? there is three options: read only, hidden and archive. What should I choose?None? I'm sorry for inconvinience.(posting two bulletins in different places). Please help me... I will kindly appreciate all your response thanks!

You're running either 2000 or XP... so, right-click the "psx emulator" folder, and make sure that "Read Only" is *not* checked... if it's checked in any way, uncheck it and select the option "Apply changes to this folder, subfolders, and files". Once it's done, see if that worked out for you.
If that doesn't solve your problem, try putting the "psx emulator" folder on "C:\" (and change its name to "pSX" or some other short name without spaces, just to cover any possible bases here). I'm not sure if it would matter, but that trademark symbol in the filepath might actually cause problems for pSX.

It may be the TM symbol in your path name - try putting it somewhere else (eg: c:\psx). I think the TM symbol is only representable in unicode which will cause problems with a lot of programs.
Note: I am considering supporting unicode filenames in the future for other reasons, but it would be quite a lot of effort.

I've had some emulator-related grief with "read only" files myself. In fact, I seem to recall a LucasArts game whose uninstaller failed due to r/o file attributes. Mix that in with stuff you want to rename/etc. and you get the usual annoyances.
Time for some hard drive housekeeping. Since there's no practical reason (that I can think of) to keep such an attribute on any file, remove 'em all the easy way, en masse, from your command prompt ....
C:\>attrib -r *.* /s
It's been part of my montly maintenance for years.
Cheers.

There should be a file called "psx.ini" on you pSX folder. Make sure it's not set as "Read only" on its "Properties", as Gamesoul Master already said.

sorry but I already search all of my computer using "search" command but it does not find the file psx.ini. I only find the notepad file for configuration for psx. It was already in non read only files.

Alright... apparently I need to make this really simple. So here it goes. Download this file (which is psx.ini) and paste it in the same folder as psxfin.exe (the emulator). Now right-click this file that you *just* put in there, go to "Properties", and make sure that the "Read-only" box at the bottom of the "General" tab is *NOT* clicked. If it is not clicked, start the emulator, change whatever settings you want to change, and then go to "File" -> "Exit". Now start the emulator again and see if the settings stayed. What was your problem in that other post?! I was making a joke with pSX Author because lately he'd come in after I gave a suggestion to something, and he'd make the same suggestion. It had nothing to do with you, so why did you go on that exasperated/sarcastic "thank you" spree?

I don't think thats really going to help - the emulator should be creating the .ini file itself...
How are you exiting the emulator? Are you closing the window or doing something else (eg. killing it from task manager or something)?
