I copy and pasted the log for reference, any help would be appreciated. I successfully dumped Resident Evil D.C. and then attempted Castlevania: SotN when I received this message. I am running Windows Vista Home Basic 32-Bit and using Alcohol 52%.

I have Windows Vista Home Basic. But I quit using it at this time. Anyway I had no problem dumping Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Did you try cdrwin? This program will retry on dumping. 1. Load it up 2. Top 3rd roll - Click it. 3. Set disc image/cuesheet. 4. Set to what ever cd drive that you use to dump the cd. 5. Set error recovery to ignore. 6. Set data speed and audio speed to 4X. 7. Set read retry count to 50. Anyway don't mess with the other settings until anyone here want us to use better settings. Try it and see it helps. www.goldenhawk.com/

The most likely reason is that the disc is damaged, hermitmaster. However, I notice you're ripping at maximum speed. Try reducing that - 1/2 the maximum is probably favourite.

Patrick, I tried reducing the speed but it doesn't do anything, it still reads at 32X. You may be right about the damaged disc, but I have never had an issue playing from the disc. I may try getting the disc repaired and try dumping again. Thank you all for your help.

When you say you have no issues playing from the disc, is this in a Playstation or in the emulator, hermitmaster?

I've played it both ways to completion numerous times. Twice on pSX and at least 30+ times on console PSX and PS2. So, if I select error skipping what are the odds that it will play OK ? I successfully ripped it with the error skipping feature turned on and it seems to play OK thus far.

Problem solved! I re-dumped the disc on my other PC running XP so I could control the speed and I got a perfect dump on the first try. I was having problems with multiple games and they all dumped properly running windows XP. Thanks for the help all!
