Hey!
I downloaded pSX but, whenever I start it an error message shows saying:
Failed to initialise D3D device!
I thought maybe it has a problem with the d3d2_6.dll file or whatever it's named, so I downloaded it, but the error still appears.
Please help!

Try updating your DirectX 9.0c installation, ali. Most people think if they've got DirectX 9.0c, they don't need to update; in fact, Microsoft bring out an update every couple of months or so. The D3D .dll file you replaced wasn't actually included in DirectX 9.0c until a year or so after the first release; and it's probable the rest of your installation is that old, too.

Well, that error usually doesn't happen if you have the original 9.0c + the required dll in the same folder as pSX. The last few times I recall that error popping up, it had to do with the graphics card and/or the drivers for it (usually that last one). Your best bet would be to try and install/find better drivers for your card. With that in mind...
What kind of graphics card do you have? Keep in mind when finding drivers that the newest ones are not always the best ones for you, especially when dealing with nVidia and ATI, and dealing with older cards. It seems that their drivers can go a bit downhill for older cards after their supported life has expired.

I updated directX not long from today... so, my directX is up at date.
Gamesoul Master@ Heh, my graphics card... pretty old technology. I have a SiS 630/730, but I still think the game should work on such a graphics card... should it?

Your video chip looks like it should run pSX, ali, but apparently there were problems with some of the drivers . Perhaps you should check that out. Wikipedia describes them as
