ZERO-TOLERANCE RULES
GENERAL RULES
CONSEQUENCES OF BREAKING THE RULES
OTHER STUFF
- No disc image/ROM/BIOS requests!
- Illegal sharing of copyright material will not be tolerated! This includes providing direct means of attaining such materials.
- No encouraging people to do any of the above.
- No disposable or throw-away e-mail addresses. This does not include email aliasing that add tags to the end of the user-name (gmailuser+tag@gmail.com and similar). This is only to prevent malicious registrations, stop the other various threats on community and provide the best support we can provide.
GENERAL RULES
- Read all necessary documentation (especially the FAQ) and search the forums before asking something, as your question may very well have been answered before
Search Tip: Remember to adjust the "Posted within the last" to a large number (999 max) of days to find older posts - No spamming, trolling, flaming, and any other rude/mean/bad behavior
- Respect all users in this forum (avoid use of "off-color" language)
- Link advertising of any kind is not permitted
CONSEQUENCES OF BREAKING THE RULES
- Warning Levels
- Base increase of 10% in warning level for breaking general rules
- Base increase of 20% in warning level for breaking zero-tolerance rules
- Additional 5% in warning level on top of the last warning level increase for the given rule type that was broken
- Base increase of 10% in warning level for breaking general rules
- Ban Levels
- >= 25% warning level: 1 week ban -- be careful...
- >= 50% warning level: 2 week ban -- reread everything!
- >= 75% warning level: 3 week ban -- you're in dangerous territory bud!
- >= 100% warning level: Congratulations, you've just earned yourself a permban!
- >= 25% warning level: 1 week ban -- be careful...
- There will be only one "grace" warning before the above rules take effect in the form of a 5% warning level increase. This isn't to punish new users, but to indicate that we're serious about what we say. A tangible consequence to the user is the best way to get that across.
- Users will be told when warning levels get increased, and will reminded to read the the Important Information forum.
- Be aware that these are only guidelines for banning users we go easy on. Staff members are still free to ban users differently than prescribed if they deem it necessary, so don't think you can go around breaking rules a few times without worry -- we'll still be keeping an eye on you.
OTHER STUFF
- People found to have obtained their games or BIOS images illegally cannot expect to receive support here. A possible threadlocking should be expected instead.
- Staff, Moderators, and the Author are not responsible for the personal actions of users
- Try not to quote posts directly above yours, as it is a waste of bandwidth and resources; additionally, do try to refrain from creating quote pyramids (quotes within quotes)
- Please try to post with correct grammar and spelling -- this includes (but is not limited to) not writing in 1337 speak, MOSTLY CAPITALized, or Useless Capitalization Of Each Word
- Please try to remain on topic
