Option to disable status icons (CD/XA/MR, etc..) - disabled by default CD drives (IoControl and ASPI) should now work Thank you so much! By the way, congratulation! You are the best. Keep up the good work! What beverage drink do you want ? P.S. Whoa...option to disable statue icons ?! That's awesome. I like CD/XA/MR now because I am getting used to it but I can disable it if my friend do not liked to use it. Does that mean I can use cd games on cd drives instead of bin/cue or something like that in cdimage ?

Yep - cd drives should hopefully work - both IoControl and ASPI work for me.
The default option is to auto detect which will try both and use whatever works...

Thank you! I will try it right now, although I already CDZ'ed all my games up, so I'll have to dig a CD up to test I'm very grateful you seem to be a patient and tolerant person, since I was worried from the very beginning that as nice as you were, posting on the forums and personally responding to all questions, that you would eventually get stressed from the sudden influx of ungrateful and frustrating naggers... Glad you've got some tough skin Excellent work! (and thanks for the icon disable!)

I tested Deamon tools
I used nero ASPI i used a CloneCD image loaded in demon tools
The game is: Chrono Cross Disc1
with Psx set to auto detect or ASPI it says(in the dos screen):
CDROM: using ASPI failed:230 hastat: 16 targstat:0 sense: f0 00 05 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 26 02 cdrom: prefetch timed out, trying again
and that loops
with pSX set to IoControl it says(in a popup window):
CD not usable: Drive does not support RAW reads
----
then i mounted the bin/cue version of disc 2 into deamon tools
same thing happened
to doublecheck i loaded the cue directly into pSX and it worked fine
so deamon tools still doesnt work
it would be usefull to use deamon tools for those pal copy protected games

Nice release. CD reading now works fine for me. Hopefully we'll see clonecd image support in 1.2.

CD reading now works fine for me but I noticed something. It is little bit slow somewhat and not perfectly sometimes..for example, Megaman X4 logo appears to be pause for few seconds then everything is fine however the character runs kinda slow a little bit. Disabled frameskipped is fine but didnt helped at all. Maybe my aspi is old ? Do I need to update it or something ? Anybody noticed that slowness sometimes or anything ?

I get pauses like that on my machine with ASPI... I don't get them with IoControl though so its definately something to do with ASPI.
This is nothing to do with the emulator afaik...
Use IoControl if you can, or possibly try other versions of ASPI?

I never used IoControl before..tell me where to get it and how ?
I tested with ePSXe's CDROM with this game through my currently ASPI..it runs perfectly speed on this game.

Is the CDROM driver setting set to "Auto detect"? If so, what does it print on the console?

Thanks for the new Release. But the CD Rom isn't working properly in this version as well. I've tested a PAL game (Alundra) and this loops in the Bioscreen, a NTSC game (MediEvil II) loops right before going ingame. I'm using XP Pro SP2 and have correct installed ASPI drivers. Io contol gives a "CD not useable" error. I hope this report helps you a bit for bughunting.
Edit: I've solved the problem. Only the first drive is working, in that case it is my DVD-burner and not my DVD-Rom. It works like a charm, many thanks for that.

Megaman X3 PAL in 7502.bin freeze in "Now loading" thats it. Tron Ni Kobun runs in normal speed.
I use "AUTO DETECT" and "ASPI"..same thing...print the console say " CDROM: Using ASPI.

Okay - I think I know what this is. Its because the emulator tries to prefetch 32 sectors ahead but ASPI is waiting until all 32 sectors are transferred.
I'll try to fix this soon by making ASPI chop the transfer into smaller chunks.
