Hey Caveman. Stop dreaming. 10 years is the minimum for ps2 emulation to be playable, regardless of accuracy. Computers aren't fast enough yet.

Hey Caveman. Stop dreaming. 10 years is the minimum for ps2 emulation to be playable, regardless of accuracy. Computers aren't fast enough yet. Id give it 4 years max and pcs will have enough power to emulate ps2 games at full speed, as long as an emulator that works comes out sometime in the next decade

FPS will probably average 15 on a high end system for most games ingame with the next pcsx2 version. That means 4x cpu speed in 4 years? Try 10. Could be longer if you consider the multi-core fad affecting the progress of single core clocks.

With multicore support it may be emulated in 4-5 years, especially considering that Intel and AMD are planning to release something like Quad core cpus soon.

to be honest, ps2 emulation isn't as hard as u think... once u've got the core correct, the gpu, and the cpu correct, the rest is nothing. yeh, a decent computer will ovbiously help, but i think, by the end of this year, we will have a ps2 emulator that runs at full speed. PCSX2 anyone?
Psx Author, i must praise u for such a great emulator. my only trouble is that it only runs bin/cue's and actual cd's...iso and img would be a nice implementation keep it up dude!

Game like ridge racer down't play the music in a race, could pSX Author fix problem for the emulator??,
As i sed keep up the good work!!!, I also like the new playstation look rather then a window look to the emulator!!.

There working out a few more bugs before a new release and they're getting 50 fps on FFIX right now. They say the duo core cpu will give you great performance boost

Frankly, I'll believe that number is steady and not a spike when I see it. And it would be pointless if it was just that game. I find it hard to believe that the emu went from 5fps to 50 in less than a year.
