I modified the top ranking to "Posting Freak" and added a new rank "Posting God" as 1000 posts with 6 stars.
Carry On.

Oh my... I guess it's gonna be interesting to see who gets there first. Although I have to say, I *will* miss having God around. It's ok, though, because he'll live on forever in our hearts.

I just hope this doesn't become an incentive for people to start spamming the forums... the God thing sorta got out of hand with some of you guys (Gamesoul Master, patrickp, and Melanogaster). I understand it's fun to chat about random things, but turning a bunch of threads into chats about the "God" title and whatnot made a lot of threads lose focus.

Hm. 'Posting Freak' doesn't really have the same ring to it, does it? Mind you, Ultima, I still happen to have this thunderbolt here... Edit: so you'll _never_ be God now, GM!

Blah... I'm certainly not going to start spamming or anything. You have to remember though, Ultima, that even though we made a lot of jokes about it, many of those jokes were within posts that did contribute to the thread. It'd be way too much effort to post a lot just to get the "God" title. That one time me and patrickp held that long conversation was just a bad oversight on our part, not an attempt to "rack up posts". I simply intend to continue posting as usual, as I like contributing my help and opinions on most topics. patrickp: Even though I'm not gonna post any more than usual, I *will* beat you to the top, you fallen god! Edit: Forgot to add... I would hope most people wouldn't bother trying to achieve 1000 posts, as they are way too far away to pull it off reasonably... plus they'll have the demi-god, fallen god, and all of our followers to deal with.
Edit 2: Ultima: I can see that this thread ( psxemulator.proboards54.com/index.cgi?board=trash&action=display&thread=1156203676&page=1 ) would probably be used as one of the examples of going off topic too much, but besides the fact that none of my posts were off topic, patrickp and Melanogaster only went off topic with one post each. Otherwise there was nothing wrong except a lot of pointless arguing that should've been ended halfway through the thread. While I will stand by and accept decisions that you admins make, I wanna say that making a point over 2 posts is a little overboard. They didn't even derail the discussion at all. See, I'm even re-editing this post to say this, just so it doesn't unnecessarily inflate my post count.
But on a related topic, I do apologize for that tangent conversation that me and patrickp got into that one morning. I think we were just so into figuring it all out that we didn't realize until it was too late that we had hijacked a couple threads. I don't want anybody to think I'm in any way against the admins (as like I said, they are good admins and I stand by their judgment and decisions), I just wanted to say my little piece.

If spamming occurs, hmmmm.
I have an idea. MWAHAHAHA!!! *hack* *HACK* *cough*
Well I if ever see this, I may drop the post count a few.

...That one time me and patrickp held that long conversation was just a bad oversight on our part, not an attempt to "rack up posts". I simply intend to continue posting as usual, as I like contributing my help and opinions on most topics. Agreed on both points. I don't think I actually realised I was going to go over the 500 mark 'till a few posts before it actually happened. And by that time we were in full steam... and, yes, I also intend just to carry on posting as usual. It was more the ludicrous surprise at deification rather than realising from that I was actually top poster (apart from certain Admins... who would certainly have been first there if they hadn't been administrified in the meantime! ) I have no doubt of that, GM! You make me look like a Trappist monk with laryngitis... ;X Anyway, we know what the title will be now - no fun! It's also occurred to me that someone might have interpreted my references to Melanogaster as a bug to be insulting - there was actually a reason for it, and Melanogaster certainly knows what it is (otherwise he wouldn't be Melanogaster ). A little knowledge of chromosome research might help... [/i][/quote] Yes, it just happened that way. I also agree with GM about the Admins...

Heh perhaps I should've separated the "spamming" note from the note about the several posts regarding the God title. Though related, they were separate ideas in my mind -- I did not think you guys were spamming, I was simply noting the little trend of going off-topic after patrickp reached God status (notice how threads losing focus from offtopic posting is unrelated, or at least not necessarily related, to post spamming ). I won't lie, and will admit that there might've been a slight fear that you guys would race to attain that status again, but it was just a thought in passing that I basically generalized to address to everyone -- you guys are well-behaved after all, and contribute lots to the forum

It's cool. The concern is understandable, considering how much we enjoy joking about the fallen god's former title. I guess your words got a little mixed in my head, and I started to worry you had lost faith in us . But as a note, we will do our best to keep things on-topic (I'm pretty sure I speak for all three of us on this one). And as we said before, all you admins know we got your back. Better for the forum that you guys actually do your best to keep order, than having completely laid back admins who contribute to the chaos instead of trying to contain and minimize it. Speaking of off-topic... sorry if this got a little bit that way.

Sorry for that bit of off topic, Ultima - I just couldn't resist. I wasn't expecting that patrickp (or anybody else) would ever become something like "God" at any post count; since that was quite peculiar for a post rank, I thought I'd make some fun about that, actually intending to cause a reaction such as Truth's - "God" is... too much, and maybe that was the right thing to do (God has superiors in ProBoards... what a world). Seems like heaven's full of bureaucracy on these days, huh, patrickp...?
Heh... no problem concerning that... And relax - I got it at first, didn't even think about sinning against God at that time...

lol I think I started a chain reaction with that post... As is probably evident, we normally don't grill users about breaking forum etiquette rules (besides the trolling/flaming/respect other users part), so going offtopic is not such a big offense as I made it sound like (whoops). I didn't mean anything much with the "offtopic" comment, it's just that I saw the same semi-offtopic... topic brought up in several threads, which seemed a little weird to me -- I didn't like seeing it run across multiple threads, and was wondering if it might spread to other threads. Anyway, not offtopic posting is almost impossible, so I don't really complain much about it, but keeping it to a minimum when entirely unrelated is probably best for the clarity of forum contents. I might be a bit stricter with the minor rules than the other administrators (or at the very least, I make my enforcing them a bit more evident), but as Gamesoul Master said, at least it's better than chaos And um, apologies if I made anyone in particular feel guilty

I don't think that you're stricter than the other admins, Ultima, so much as that you spent more time here, so you're most likely to be the one to pick stuff up - as you're meant to! And I agree with GM; I think the administration here is fine - it's certainly not the sort of forum where you get the impression the admins have nothing better to do... Apart from, as Melanogaster says,
