I am using the original Greatest Hits disc. I've had this problem since 1.8 where I can get it to work from an image but never from the original disc.

I can confirm that pSX 1.12 runs fine on my Win98 SE. And it does not need any VC++ 2005 runtime components. Besides as long as it only depends on directX9, dsound and dinput (as it is now) it should continue to work fine under 98 and ME.
Keep up the good work!

Still no music in Thunderforce 5 though, any progress with that?

Great new release, thank you psx emulator. You're a really great developer. I'm looking forward to the ps2 emulation. The new version Linux Port doesn't mute, like the old version... very sad. But isn't that bad at all.
A big HOORAY on the greatest pSX Emulator!

AWESOME! Big cheers to the mds/mdf support and no resizing/moving during fast forward/vsync toggle... very great. And yes... it does seem to take up less memory than I remember in previous versions (haven't actually side-by-side compared, but it definitely seems to leave more memory free).
@psx Author: How's that VS2005 going for you? I tried going from VS6 to VS2005 a year ago and fell flat on my face. It was almost like learning a completely new programming language! Are there code optimizations in VS2005 from VS6...? I haven't had a chance to do any kind of comparisons considering my initial problems... XD.

I can confirm that pSX 1.12 runs fine on my Win98 SE. And it does not need any VC++ 2005 runtime components... Same here. There's no VC++ 2005 showing in Add/Remove Programs, and I can't remember ever having installed it, so unless it's been installed with something else, and wouldn't show in Add/Remove Programs, it's definitely not on my system. pSX works fine. That's not quite true. A version or two back, pSX Author had to start including the unicows.dll with pSX for W98 users.

In the readme.txt. He forgot to say everyone need to install libgtkglext1 on Linux to where pSX will load.
