pSX Author are you going to add .ccd (.img .cue .sub) support? (Some programs create images that contains 4 files with those extensions)

Yes - I plan to add support for more types of cd image in the future. Has anyone experimented with the .cdz util/images yet? I highly recommend using them to save space

The CDZ format rock. Nice feature. Are the pSX will ever support the M.A.M.E. / M.E.S.S. CHD format ? Just curious

Simply changing the extensions from .ccd to .cue and .img to .bin does work

Thats a good hack for getting .ccd to work rockmangames - sounds like it should be VERY easy to support then! I will look into supporting CHD too - sounds like a good idea.

Thats a good hack for getting .ccd to work rockmangames - sounds like it should be VERY easy to support then! But that will AFAIK completely ignore the subchannel data CloneCD stores in .sub files. And as the subchannel data was used as a copy-protection in some PAL games, I don't think they will work without it.

Thats interesting - I have never seen a PS1 game read the subcode info... in fact I'm not sure how it would even do it. A mode2 .bin file can contain full 2352 byte sectors which is as much as the cd hardware allows the PS1 to read I think. Let me know if you can remember any games that do this... I have already seen some copy protected games that do not work on this emulator (Legend of Dragoon is one). But they seem to work by exploiting strange behaviour/bugs in the CD hardware - I wasn't able to figure out what it was trying to do, but luckily the cracked version works anyway

A mode2 .bin file can contain full 2352 byte sectors which is as much as the cd hardware allows the PS1 to read I think. Let me know if you can remember any games that do this... From the ePSXe readme: "Included partial support for libcrypt games. Libcrypt is a protection scheme used very often in PAL games. It uses data in subchannel Q. (...) the no working games includes (at least) Spyro 2 and 3 PAL, and formula one 99)" This may help too: www.megagames.com/psx/psx_libcrypt_tutorial.shtmlwww.megagames.com/psx/psx_protected_games.shtmlSpyro 3 was particularly evil from what I remember - the game played fine for a few levels, and then your items started to disappear, so you couldn't progress farther in the game. I have already seen some copy protected games that do not work on this emulator (Legend of Dragoon is one). But they seem to work by exploiting strange behaviour/bugs in the CD hardware - I wasn't able to figure out what it was trying to do, but luckily the cracked version works anyway On that note, do you plan to add PPF soft patch support (ePSXe has it)? Would help with those games that need the cracks (I can remember LoD and FF9 PAL needing them, there are probably others).
