@mika: Just noticed... are you a Knight Rider fan? I do love Knight Rider... It's the best quote of all time. Also, changed my 3x 512MB Kingstons to a single 1 gig Corsair stick, 400Mhz (speeeeeeeeed, woo! ) and a bought a new hd. pSX runs without a hitch. So, eventhough it's a small change, here's the new stuff. Oh, and I didn't list my pad converter before, so. To everybody, I have a question. Does anybody have a machine running Win98 or W2k with a processor between 500 MHz and 750 MHz that they can test pSX on? The only key is... it needs to be running with less than 128 MB of RAM. So basically, anybody running this kind of machine who can take out enough RAM to get it under 128 MB... could you please test pSX on it? I'm hoping for as many results as possible... thanks.

My old system: AMD Duron 900Mhz 384M Ram 60G HDD WinXP Pro SP2 GForce 2 MX 100 PCI graphics w/32M Ram (eww) Ran pSX fine (with frameskipping on, of course) where ePSXe dogged on most games, even with accelerated plugins AND frameskipping. Current computer: Intel Celeron-D 3.2Ghz 512M Ram 80G HDD Integrated ATI Radeon Xpress 200 graphics (64M Shared ram, I think) WinXP Home SP2 pSX runs like a champ on this one, have to turn on the framerate limiter for most games. ePSXe runs OK, I guess...Don't like having to mess with it, tho. --Arek

How you can have some frameskipping issues on this thing is beyond me! Have you tried simply turning it off?

This is my computer. as you can see, pSX will probably run like shit:
HP Pavillion 6355
Intel celeron ****333mhz****
250 megs of memory
10 gig hd with a 160 gig external usb hd
Goldstar crd 8240b (not a cd burner)
Pioneer DVR 710 dvdrw/cdrw burner
ATI Technologies Inc. ATI-264VT4 PCI
Mag Innovision CRT(or is it CTR?) Monitor running at 1024x768 at 60 hertz
Microsoft Windows 2000 professional.
as you can see, my computer is from the damn stone age, and i dont think pSX can run on it. ePSXe can barely run on the thing, even with the crappiest graphics enabled, which arent very much worse than my color tv made in like the 70's

It's CRT (cathode ray tube), cornholio and, personally, I couldn't stand refresh rate as low as 60Hz - the flicker would drive me crazy, apart from the headaches... Well, if ePSXe can barely run on your PC, you should be able to do a bit better with pSX, which tends to have lower resource requirements than ePSXe, particularly when you have such a limited videocard - although the card does need to be able to work with DirectX 9.0c. And why haven't you tried?

cornholio: It's worth a shot to try. At least you have a decent amount of RAM to work with. With that video card, you should really try Scitech Display Doctor 6.53. If you wanna try it, follow that link and grab the sdd653-w.exe file for installation, and the regcodes.txt file for the serial number. It's their older unsupported version (hence being free), which isn't useful for newer video cards, but it's *highly* useful for people with older video cards. I used it with my ATI Rage Pro 16 and my old Trident 2 MB (the model is so old you probably wouldn't know it if I told you... lol). That program, I mention for overall... just about every game you have should run at least a *little* better with the program, and depending on your card (which is difficult to find solid info on), it may even increase its compatibility with some games. Definitely something you should look into. I'm actually *really* hoping you try pSX on your computer and tell us how it works, because I've been itching to test pSX on a computer very much like yours. Don't forget to turn off all your unneeded background processes and try pSX in both fullscreen and windowed mode. Running pSX in 640x480 fullscreen should help too (as opposed to 1024x768 fullscreen, which it'd most likely default to). Most recent video card drivers and version of DirectX is recommended too. You forgot to mention... what kind of sound card do you have?

Well, I had to upgrade my PC some months ago, since my old motherboard died carrying almost everything else with it. This may be important for compatibility reports, so that's why I'm doing it:
- OS: Windows XP SP2 - CPU: Intel Celeron D 2.66GHz - RAM: 1GB DDR2 533MHz - GPU: nVidia GeForce 5200 128MB - SPU: Realtek AC'97 Audio (onboard)

How does it work with VSync, laurana - is there any reason why you're not using it?
