I can't remember how PS2 emulation will work in pSX (using the GPU or not), so you may or may not be able too do such a thing with a Model Ripper.

I'm not the author, but I can make a very educated guess here.
Considering their extreme bent towards getting it as accurate as possible (pSX is on par with Nestopia in aiming for accuracy), I'm going to predict software rendering to texture like pSX.
The problem with doing 3D poly rendering is that your video card's rendering is never going to be 100% exact to the original Sony hardware and so various oddball quirks of the hardware (like PS1 framebuffer tricks) tend to be exceptionally difficult to implement decently, much less perfectly. If you emulate the hardware all the way down, it's going to use more CPU, but you'll have a 1:1 accurate representation of the output all the way down to the subpixel level.
I might be talking out my rear here, but I believe you're not going to have a whole lot of luck with 3D model ripping on PS2 right now as I don't believe any of the existing pcsx2 graphics plugins support exporting the 3D render before display. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone here will let me know, but as of _right now_ I believe this to be the case.
(Oh, and hi again, guys; I'm back to periodic lurking. Been thinking about creating an account over at NGEmu since I do use Makaron, pcsx2, and Dolphin a lot of late..) edit: Slight bit of clarification.

actully you can rip models from pcsx2 but they come out flat so you have to rip another model from another angle to fix it.
