I've been playing some Final Fantasy VIII recently, and it brought me to thinking what features psx-emulators lack, that would be needed in the "perfect" emulator. I came up with a few things, among other Link-cable support for the few games that used it, but most importantly, PocketStation support.
I don't know how hard it would be to implement, but what I do know is that it would great being able to play those games, at least the ones that enhanced gameplay, such as the one in Final Fantasy VIII.
I couldn't find any requests for it, so consider it requested.

It would be nice if pSX have a PocketStation support built into it to where we can play PocketStation games on the side.

It's still not enough information -- specifications don't tell you how the actual device works =\

I dunno if anyone else has seen this, but there's a recently-active thread in another forum, regarding possible reverse engineering of the PocketStation. www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?t=40028&page=2#17Since the author of pSX has expressed the desire to emulate the PocketStation, I thought that this might be relevant; if they manage to learn enough about the device, it might make writing such an emulator possible. Hope this helps.

sorry Ultima about the new thread, I didn't search for this one (to my detriment) I did look to see if it was on the first page and it wasn't at the time. Anyways, sorry to cause more work for you.

Well, you should have searched, panzer88, but I don't see why you shouldn't have posted here - it's well within the topic. However, although pSX Author might like to include Pocketstation support, it's not going to be possible unless and until fuller information on it becomes available. See Ultima's links above.

Believe me, I did a lot of looking. Never did find any real solid information. I found one source, but the author apparently abandoned the work he'd made and it was full of holes... I don't think there's even enough to start making guesses, considering the memory map I found. :/

One can only hope that somebody out there manages to get ahold of a Pocketstation *and* has the time/inclination to play around with it to the point of posting actual useful info... otherwise, we can only hope Sony decides to publish technical specs (Yeah right).

Did you read through the thread and check out the links, viperzerofsx? If you have some new information, that would be useful, but there isn't exactly an active Pocketstation development scene and it's likely any links you can come up with have already been referenced here.
