Lightgun emulation with using the mouse would be very interesting.
Therefore a mouse pointer icon / aiming cross must be implemented since there isn't any in the games, as well as a special key for "aiming outside the screen" which is neccesary for reloading im most games. So when holding the key the cross disappears (is placed somewhere out of the screen for the emulator) and the player hits the normal fire button for reloading, when releasing the key the cross reappears. Moving the mouse pointer outside the screen would be a bad idea because the player can "loose" it. Maybe it's neccessary to lock the mouse pointer to the window when pSX runs in a window.

Konami JustifierGunConGunCon already should be implemented (though TBH, I've never used it, so I'm not sure how it works). Have a look-see at the controller preferences.

I have used it before, it works mostly well, not sure about the current versions, but I did remember it being trapped in a 640x480 box (which is fine at that resolution) and that the aim is slightly off moving away from the center. I guess I should try it again.

I think what buttercup is talking about is using a mouse to perform the guncon function.
I wouldn't have any use for it myself, and it's obviously not part emulating a Playstation as accurately as possible, but I guess it's an idea...

Ah... I actually assumed that the GunCon emulation was mouse, but er, yeah, just realized that there isn't any mouse configuration in the controller settings, so that probably isn't the case...

The GunCon emulation is done by mouse. The Left Button is the Trigger, Middle Button is A Button and Right Button is B button. And I just attempted Time Crisis and the area is still limited to a 640x480 box, so you can properly play only on the standard window size or at 640x480. The accuracy inside that box is much better than what I remembered, its only a minor warp on the left and right sides.

lol, wow, I totally forgot that I had my cousin's entire PlayStation collection on me, and that he had Time Crisis... I could simply have tested it myself XD I've been dropping the proverbial ball a lot lately :[ /me goes to test Time Crisis himself... Edit: Yay for badly-scratched discs... unable to test. Oh well

If in the next version Area 51 will be playable I can't use GunCon because the game works only with the Lightgun, so implement it would be nice!!!

Hello everybody. I'm new in the forum and I love pSX emulator. It would be possible dual light gun emulation? If the emulator supported dual mice... thanks

Hello, I also like the pSX emulator. Pretty good. Only one thing: I can't find a way to use a mouse as a lightgun.
And in the future, if I get my USB PC lightgun, will I use it with this emu?
Best Regards
Glamer

Apparently you can, Glamer, in the Windows version, if you use the Guncon setting for the controller Type and (presumably) set your mouse up as a controller. Read through this thread.
I can't check this out; I don't spend in more time in Windows than I can help.

Okay I found a way to use the mouse as a lightgun. I was enough idiot to try a Konami Justifier game :-D. So the guncon games work with mouse and I tested my USB light gun, this also works well (Topgun).
