Well Im Creating My Own Compability List with most info on it and i will see how many pages it would take for my psx games over 900 games to fit on the grid wow...
*So im in the first page half way.............*
The List Im doing is consists of putting this thing together if worth it 1.Game Title,Disc# Game ID,Region(NTSC),Publisher,ESRB,Game-Status,Game-Rating,Comments and im trying to slim it down after i finish putting all the info on the grid... without affecting the other one..... Maybe i slim down the width column taking space for example......comment section so could add more additional info.........ok thats all........if worth it and i will see the result at the end.........of my list.........and this will take me along time to accomplished but maybe it worth it...........

hi, long time no see around here..sorry.
just to say, thks to smegforbrain to have take care of the compatibility list, and don't worry, you'v done a very good work (and i know how it can be hard to keep the list updated).
about credits...well, we'r an opencommunity here, aren't we ? just sharing all we can, freely and without second thought..so i don't care about personal credits.
and if you really want credits, just remember that what you called "billoute's list" wasn't MY list at first...if i remember well, EmuLover started it all with his idea about making a forum friendly chart compatibility list (look at the first pages of this thread), then i took over the job with a full spreadsheet dedicated page...then smegforbrain, etc.etc...
our only goal should be to provide a good compatibility list to help ppl dealing with their problems, and (and first) help pSX Author to make his emu better...that's all.
anyway, all ideas are welcome..it's a community work, isn't it.
and, since it's all about compatibility : Discworld II - Mortality Bytes! [SCUS_946.05] Bios:SCPH1001 Version:1.3 Works:YES Audio problems, like scratched sounds (can be helped a little by playing with latency), and bad XA playing (two same tracks played at same time, or sometimes are cut before the end). pSX show this error "eek! samplestoirq=0", and repeat it forever during actual gameplay.

Heh welcome back billoute =] @smegforbrain: While updating my list, I looked through your list and found some stuff that you might want to change... Rename...- Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together -> Tactics Ogre (only the Japanese version had the subtitle)- Blood Omen -> Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain - Intelligent QBE -> Intelligent Qube - Future Cop LAPD -> Future Cop: LAPD 2100 - Jackie Chan Stunt Master -> Jackie Chan's Stuntmaster - Largo Winch -> Largo Winch .//Commando Sar - No One Can Stop Mr Domino -> No One Can Stop Mr.Domino! - Red Alert Retalliation -> Command & Conquer: Red Alert: Retaliation - Soul Reaver: Legacy of Kain -> Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Spyro -> Spyro the Dragon - Tobal n°1 -> Tobal No.1 (check GameSpot Gamespace) - Vib Ribbon -> vib-ribbon - WWF Smackdown! 2 -> WWF Smackdown! 2: Know Your Role Double entries...? (and my reasons for why they should be removed) - Resident Evil 2 (original tester probably didn't bother testing the saving function)- Road Rash 3D (is the sound problem not present in older versions of pSX, or was it not tested?)- Saiyuki: Journey West [since the game works in the newer version, just list the newer one]- Silent Hill (original tester probably didn't notice blockiness on pSX 1.0?)- Xenogears (keep newer one)- Valkyrie Profile ( keep the one that actually tells you how to fix the freezing) - Zanac X Zanac ( remastered can be put as a note (I have a feeling it might have been protected, and TotoFF28 patched it), since there's no such thing as Zanac x Zanac (Remastered) =P) Miscellaneous...- VMX Racing... you have different colors for the name and YES Some of the changes require you to re-sort the list. While on that topic, I noticed that Ehrgeiz was placed out of alphabetical order on your list -- all the more reason to re-sort the list. Luckily for you, Excel can do that automatically (right?)... Anyway, I'm going to try and fill some more information in if I can (even if it means adding ambiguous IDs -- some games might have only have come from one region), and check for more name corrections. If I find any, I'll post them here. Then I can finally get back to testing (hopefully) =P -------------------- Edit: Meh I just put my rendition of the list up. It's a rehash of smegforbrain's list (I hope you don't mind -- I'll gladly remove if you do), in JavaScript. You can sort the list by clicking on any of the column headers, which makes for easier searching for all games with specific characteristics, like game rating, BIOS used, or whatever other criteria. Remember, I'm not actually maintaining the list, just throwing ideas out there on how to improve it... I'm finding it harder to explain ideas I have, so showing it visually helps =P-------------------- Edit: Hm, working more on the comments section, I decided to categorize the problems (they mostly fall neatly into these categories): Audio issues Console issues Control issues Copy protected Core issues ( things like freezing, inability to go in-game for whatever reason, etc. fall in this category) Graphics issues Memory Card issues Speed issues For each game, I listed the issues in order of importance (copy protected, core, graphical, and then the rest). I guess it places more emphasis on those issues, in case pSX Author ever needs to know these things. Also, try sorting by Comments -- you'll see it's easier to find issues (sorta).

Ultima, many of the game titles were already on the list when I inherited it, and I haven't paid close attention to them, just fixing them as I notice them. I did add the subtitle to Tactics Ogre, because it does pop up on the darn title screen. Oh well. I'm not sure what you mean about Resident Evil 2, considering the comment specifically states that they tried to save the game. If the game locks up when trying to save to a memcard, it's still a problem. I personally tested Road Rash 3D (and yes, the sound problem does exist in latter versions of pSX, where it didn't in earlier version) and Saiyuki: Journey West. Keeping notes on older versions is one of those things... I dunno. It's documentation, in the end, and it might prove useful, should we end up with another Road Rash 3D, where a game works fine in an earlier version, but then develops a problem later on. Knowing how the game worked for as many versions as possible could help track down these issues (well, for pSX at least).

For the Resident Evil 2 thing, I meant the old entry for pSX 1.0 -- there's no issues listed on it, and I get the feeling it wasn't as well tested like the second entry was. Oh well, your point makes sense as well. Leave as is =P
What I'm still wondering about is Valkyrie Profile... the second entry mentions how it freezes in pSX 1.3, but that was also an issue back in pSX 1.2, and the solution for both versions is mentioned in the first entry (using -r). I'd say the second entry should be removed.
And the Zanac x Zanac thing too, in my opinion -- the Zanac x Zanac (Remastered) wasn't another version of the game, but rather, just a remastered one, which would put it (basically) in the same boat as patching a copy protected game and remaking the disc. There's no separate entries for patched and unpatched copy protected games ;P
And about the renaming... Yeah, I know you left a lot of the titles, I'm just pointing out which ones need changing =]

Naturally we can't possibly have all the information. We're only taking reports from other users, not testing them ourselves. Not all users provide the information we need. As for comments, if the game has no comments, then there's nothing wrong with it (on smegforbrain's list), or the "rating" on the game already provides enough information about it (on my version of the list, which is essentially the same list). After all, if it's unbootable, what more is there to say about it? It freezes after the PlayStation logo, as can be inferred from giving it that rating (again, this is on my version of the list).
FFC, I still stick by my opinion that adding things like the ESRB game rating and Publisher are out of the scope of a compatibility list. The only things that should be included in the compatibility list are things that might actually affect how they work, IMHO. Any more information would be a waste of time to include =T

1.missing game id on some games listed 2.missing bios on some games listed As ultima said, what's missed is due to users giving incomplete reports. I've been able to get some of the game id's from the PSX Copyright Protection List website, but I've not had the opportunity to look for other sites which might have this info to fill in the blanks myself on those that we at least have the region for. I'm not too worried about the effort needed to combine your list with this one, when the time comes. 900 games? That's an incredibly large selection of games. I don't even have 100. It's a pretty damn healthy chunk of all the games out there for pSX, and it would go a LONG way in getting the list as complete as possible when it comes to the available games out there for the Playstation. Plus, I'm sure there will be plenty of duplicates to weed out between the two lists. And ultima, I am going to remove the first listing for Resident Evil 2: I've done some testing with mem cards in version 1.0, and I don't think they work at all, which means I dont' think the tester for version 1.0 bothered to try and do a game save (which is something that people *should* be testing for, as well as game loading). I'm going to go ahead and put the update up, and hopefully I'll have another update up tomorrow evening with some more game testing of my own. And yes, I change the color from a really light cyan to a really light grey, so hopefully it's good to go.

I'm not sure how much it'll help but... I linked to this page of Game IDs a while ago, the third post in that thread might have missing IDs for games we know regions for. Edit: Interesting... from reading my old post to find that link up above, I just noticed that I was the original creator of this YES, YES, NO system of rating the working-ness of games... and now I don't like it anymore lol xD

Looking at your lists I noticed I haven't said what BIOS I've used for testing Road Rash, Runabout 2 and (as you wish) Command & Conquer: Red Alert: Retaliation (page 12 of this thread). It was scph1001.
And ultima, if you want to have strictly right names, the games Tomb Raider The Last Revelation and Chronicles don't have 'IV' or 'V' on its names (and I've posted it correctly!).

Yeah I was planning on changing that, but sorta got sidetracked with the comments and stuff. Thanks for reminding me =P Edit: Decided to start searching for IDs... I found a few, along with a few of sites listing a bunch of games along with their region and IDs... www.angelfire.com/amiga2/link343/PSXLIST.html (huge 400KB, probably has everything we need, but I'll list the rest just in case) www.digitpress.com/DP/cmf/search.cmf (excellent search site) mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/li_lon/psxlist.aspwww.retropelihuolto.com/kokoelma.htmwww.angelfire.com/indie/themabus/www.mobygames.com/home (doesn't always have information, but sometimes does) Firstly, changed these: - Bubble Bobble - featuring Rainbow Islands- Bust -a-Move - Bust -a-Move 2: Arcade Edition - Final Fantasy Chronicles: Chrono Trigger - Fist of the North Star : Hokuto no Ken- ISS Pro Evolution Soccer 2 - Jumping Flash! 3: Robbit Mon Dieu - Mr. Domino - No One Can Stop- Power Shovel Ni Norou!!- RayCrisis- Spiderman- TOCA - Touring Car Championship [ (Rumble Edition) removed, there's only one ID anyway] - Tron Ni Kobu nThen removed this/these: - Rainbow Island (was actually Bubble Bobble -.-) Now, what I've found so far: - SCUS_947.02 : Beyond the Beyond - SCES_003.46 : Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - SLES_004.48 : Bubble Bobble - featuring Rainbow Islands - SLES_017.19 : Darkstalkers 3 - SLPS_022.99 : Derby Stallion '99 - SLES_002.99 : Destruction Derby 2 - SLUS_006.72 : Devil Dice - SLPS_003.35 : Dezaemon Plus - SLUS_012.66 : Fear Effect 2 - Retro Helix [Disc1of4] - SLES_020.80 : Final Fantasy VIII [Disc1of4] - SLUS_013.63 : Final Fantasy Chronicles [Chrono Trigger Disc] - SLPS_003.69 : Fist of the North Star - Hokuto no Ken - SLUS_006.24 : Gauntlet Legends - SCES_023.80 : Gran Turismo 2 [Arcade Disc] - SLUS_010.60 : Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - SCPS_10.103 : Jumping Flash! 3: Robbit Mon Dieu - SLES_508.41 : Largo Winch .//Commando Star - SLUS_012.70 : Medal of Honor - Underground - SLUS_008.04 : Mr. Domino - No One Can Stop - SLPM_866.29 : Power Shovel Ni Norou!! - SLUS_004.03 : Rage Racer - SLES_028.82 : RayCrisis - SLUS_008.00 : Rollcage - SLES_015.14 : Silent Hill - SLPS_013.63 : Slayers Royal - SLES_021.94 : Sled Storm - SCES_005.77 : Soul Blade - SLUS_008.75 : Spiderman - SLUS_005.48 : Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha - SLES_002.55 : Tekken 2 - SLES_013.37 : Thrill Kill - SLES_003.76 : TOCA - Touring Car Championship - SLUS_006.79 : Trap Gunner - SLUS_001.23 : VMX Racing - SLES_003.27 : WipeOut 2097 - SLPS_033.54 : Zanac X Zanac Couldn't figure these games out (mostly because of multiple versions): - Bust-a-Move - Eithea - G-Police - Initial D - ISS Pro Evolution Soccer 2 - Magical Drop F - Myst - PaRappa the Rapper - Raiden DX - Raiden Project - Tron Ni Kobun - Um Jammer Lammy So as of now, we have 90 games without any IDs (including these 12 I couldn't figure out up above).

For the most part, I'd go with the changes you mention, ultima. However, there are some conflicting instances here, and I'm not sure who's really correct: For example, with the Mr. Domino game. The title "Mr. Domino - No One Can Stop" really doesn't make sense, which is why I think "No One Can Stop Mr. Domino" might be the correct one. It's one of those instances where I really want to see the game for myself. It doesn't help that Gamefaqs lists both "Mr. Domino" and "No One...". I've also seen the Bust-A-Move games spelled with the "a" caps and not in caps, but whatever. Spider-Man. This is a fun one. You can find it listed both ways on sites, and not just for this particular PSX title, but for any Spider-Man game. Or comic, or whatever. Technically speaking, the correct, trademarked version that Marvel Comics owns is in fact "Spider-Man". That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. There are also a couple of others I found that had id's that I couldn't figure out from the big list, due to multiple versions and such.

Well i agree to what u said about the 900+ games that i have....... But so far i have tested 150 games for now because im concentrating on my game list putting the game id and other title that missed on my list.....so far almost done with all game id on my list....and that why i stopped testing my games until i have completed the listing on my list....
900+ games alone is the original games plus top of that i have backup too...
mine is mostly SLUS,SCUS and some has SLPS,SCPS...and my back up has different region game id as well.....
And also besides making list on psx emulator .Im making a list too on other emulator such as epsxe,fpse,pcsx,psxeven,vgs,bleem,hlpse0.06...... and to compare has the highest compability......
But first im concentrating on the psx compability........
Well that all for now.........

Inuyasha: Feudal Fairy Tale still hangs at round start and start of any mini-game in 1.4. It's something with the announcer. Game works perfectly in Training mode, since there's no announcer. Everything else plays like it's supposed to, flawlessly. I pretty much, play this game exclusively. I remember PSXEven and Pcsx fixed this game in one of their versions. Since Pcsx is open-source, there's probably a piece of code that fixes this in the portion behind the "Inuyasha Sengoku Battle Fix" that was available in the CPU config menu. As for the compatibility list, hereThis game needs a small update: Inuyasha: Feudal Fairy Tale | SLUS_015.34 | SCPH1001 | pSX 1.0-1.4 | Orange Yes | Gets stuck at Round start, meaning the announcer doesn't announce the round to start, so the game doesn't progress. Basic Movement is possible. |
Hopefully, once that fix is done, this game will be 100% compatible.
