Are you sure that Wild Arms 2 works with pSX? I made a BIN/CUE image of it with UltraISO, and it stops displaying after the opening slew of company logos. Anyone have an idea what to do?
This is a great emulator though. ePSXe just can't handle some of these games, like Persona 2.

Mine won't, even in IOControl. Something about the drive not doing raw reads. Anyway, the issue is about getting past the logo screens. It's not like it won't start at all, it just hangs right before the title screen. Any other suggestions?

Welp, I tried both those things, and sure enough.... it didn't work. Nothing is wrong with the rip or the frameskip. Anyone have any other ideas? Command line additions? Hit it with a stick?

i play with Wild Arms 2 right now, with pSX emulator. It works perfectly. I'm using a cdrwin image. Maybe you should try epsxe. WA2 works fine with it too.

MGS is still perfect, BAttle intros in the various FF games are perfect... but then I am on a 2.8ghz celeron D (The best emu cpu out there...)

Your processor doesn't matter that much... your CD-drive is going to be the deciding factor on how accurate the disc loading is going to be. Me? My drive seems to have problems with psx games despite being pretty damn new, so I have to use a special option in EPSXE for "smooth reading" from the disc to keep games from skipping. Also, games pause slightly when loading; this is especially obvious in games like Resident Evil which pre-render every different camera angle. I do not get this problem when running the games from images instead of disc. My processor is also up near 3ghz, with about 1.5 gigs of ram and a geforce 6800GT for a video card.

Okay, I think you all need to give a few more details, to answer the other variables - What version of Wild Arms 2 are you playing? JAP/USA/EUR, and game code. MD5/SHA1 hash the .BIN file, so you can compare your backups for differences.
- What version of BIOS are you using? File name, and MD5/SHA1 hash if you can
Different versions of the same game, and different BIOSes, can give different results And this post is for everyone running the game: those that can and those that can't. Gather the info, determine the problem

Anyway, I've tried Wild Arms 2, and it seems perfect! The battles are working, the intro, the field, the map screen... everything works fine!! My game id is SCUS_944.84, I'm playing from an iso, default config except for the frameskip, that is off.

I'm using the NTSC, SCUS-94484, even did an md5 hash and verified, and everything checked out. I can post it if you like. The problem is absolutely NOT with the game or the image. Both work in ePSXe, right up until after the fight with Ptolomea, hence why I'm trying to use pSX.
