Woo, figured I'd make an actual new thread about this little sucker since I'm playing through it right now.
First up, the initial loading and dolby sound screens do not display when you start up a new game. If you press F11, you'll see that they're int he VRAM, they're just not displaying.
Here's some caps of them off of my capture card:
Fixing these problems will probably also fix the problem with the "Please Insert Disc 2" screen not displaying either (again, it'll show up in the VRAM but not in the game). Oh, and the League of Free Nations logo doesn't display after missions either. Just remembered that
Next, audio during briefings is inconsistant. I've yet to find an emulator (or plugin) that handles them just right. Xebra might, but I've got a ghetto PC. Once I upgrade I'll play with that one more
Framerate during the briefings bounces around between 50 and 58fps, and tweaking the audio latency doesn't really seem to have much positive effect. I managed to make it worse, though!
Cutscenes (sequences where your craft is launching, docking, or generally just entering the battlefield) are presented in widescreen as they should be, but aren't centered properly. They're pressed up toward the top of the screen and when you finish the mission the cockpit is still visable in the area that should be black.
Memory card loading/saving works dandy enough, though I did have a stray crash a little bit ago where after I loaded and it asked me to confirm or go back, the video just froze. Audio still worked and I could hear myself jumping through menus but the screen wouldn't update. Might have just been my ghetto PC, but hey...felt it was worth throwing out there.
here's a memory card file that includes a save at the end of disc 1 so that you can verify that fixing the first two screens will in turn fix the disc 2 insertion thing screen deal.
Gameplay seems to work perfectly. I haven't noticed any issues with it thus far.
I made a video capture about 3 months ago that runs from boot up to the end of the first mission. It's about 43.3 megs, but it should provide a decent enough reference for pretty much all of the above graphical problems
