Dragon Warrior 7 crashes when it comes to the part where Hero, Kiefer, and Maribel enter the first tomb where they activate the Traveler's Gate. They put the last shard in and the screen lights up. The music concludes and the screen stays white. It's probably the image itself. Dunno if the gameshark will run the burn but I'll give it a shot. I don't have a mod'd playstation. I can include the save file if nessecary so you don't have to go thru all that crap.

Try Reinserting The Image See If That Helps.

moose101, do you have a memcard that can be uploaded somewhere, just before this crash, so others can try it out with another copy of the game? I'm assuming that this is something unavoidable in the game (ie, you must visit this location), so I'd love to have somebody double check this before I chalk the game up as a No on the list.

Sorry bout the delay, I completely forgot about this post. It seems that the crash is caused from the image when you go thru the travel gate. I'm using ePSXe. I switch between the two actually. ePSXe can go thru it fine. ePSXe can read the memory card BIN files if you select all files option on the open menu. I figured out a tonne of codes for it. I'll convert them to gameshark and share them later. ePSXe is harder to convert. I have to take a damn calculator and notepad to do em. With PSX Emulator I can just remove the first 4 digets and put 8001 and take the second last digit and subtract 2 from it.... Well for the most part. I think the 3rd digit might be variable.

Happens the same with me brow...that's why I stopped playing it...also ePSXe or whatever doesn't run on my pc. So I will just wait for things to work out.

I have had this problem with the game, that is the reason why I have joined here. Is it fixable at all?

It is fixed in the next version, I am currently playing through it myself (and thoroughly enjoying it!). Since several people are asking about it I'll put a WIP release here: psxemulator.gazaxian.com/psxfin_wip.rarThe .rar only contains the .exe, so rename your old one and replace it with this to play DW7 (also WildArms1 is fixed in this version, although not well tested yet). Please note that I don't really want to hear about any bugs in this version (unless they are DW7 related) - this is a work in progress and is not ready for release yet.

FWIW, pSX Author, I've been playing a bit of Wild Arms 1 with the WIP - no problems whatsoever.
smegforbrain, Ultima, it's the PAL version, Game ID SCES_003.21.

If it's all the same to you guys, I'd just prefer to wait for the official 1.6 release.
As it is, I really didn't get the entry for DW7 updated because I didn't get any of the info I needed to update it, like game id and psx version.
Since we're referring to the game as Dragon Warrior, instead of Dragon Quest, I can probably guess it's the US version of the game. However, it is also a multi-disc game that I have never played, so I have no idea whether this problem is occuring in disc 1 or disc 2.
I'm guessing this problem exists for all current versions of pSX, so really all I need to know is which disc this crash is ocurring on, so I know where to mark it as unplayable (until pSX gets v1.6 out). If the crash is in disc 1, I'll just update the entry for disc 1. If it's in disc 2, I'll update disc 1, leave it as yellow YES, and add in disc 2's info with a No.

I definitely agree, only officially supported releases should be mentioned, otherwise people might start using the WIP and report bugs when they're currently unwanted (well general bugs anyway).
Edit (July 02, 2006): Did anyone have the game ID for this...?
