I'm having the same problem with 1.13, and using 1.10 seems to fix it, but that can't be the whole issue. Someone on IRC seemed to think that my hardware or configuration made any difference in the matter, after I convinced him that I made a verifiable dump from my pressed CD. - BIOS: scph101.bin
- Game ID: SLUS-00067
- Name: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (US-NTSC)
- OS: Windows 7 x64 Professional Service Pack 1
- Hardware: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R, Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 at stock multiplier, 8GB DDR2 667 memory, XFX GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB Black Edition, Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic, WDC WD6400AAKS 640GB system drive (image and emulator located here), WDC WD1501FASS storage drive, Xbox360 Wireless Controller. I may have left a few things out.
- Disc image: bin/cue from original CD, converted to cdz; data track redump.org verified
- pSX version: 1.13
I can play further with 1.10, since it seems to survive the hallway transition, but I don't really want to make my next replay on my computer when I can play it perfectly well on my PS3 and 46" TV.

pSX v1.13 Bios: psone-45a.bin Game ID: SLUS-00067 (redump.org verified image) Name: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (US-NTSC)
Specs: Windows 7 x64 Pro SP1 Intel C2Quad 3GHz 4GB RAM Radeon HD4870 X2 2GB Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeFidel1ty
Image: redump.org verified, bin+cue format, mounted on alcohol virtual drive
I have tested 2 dozens of times changing music area, alucard freezes during half a second just like in real hardware, and then the new music of new area plays perfectly fine, always. Tested music loop in first area of the game, no problem at all.

v1.13 works perfectly fine if I play the game from the actual disk in my optical drive.

don't convert to cdz, mount your bin/cue image on alohol virtual drive and I'm sure your problem is solved

I already have Daemon Tools Lite installed, but pSX can't use it because I didn't install SPTD, and I don't feel like rebooting right now to install that.
EDIT: It works fine with a Daemon Tools SCSI drive, but the DT/IDE type drive reports that no drivers work.
