Shadow Madness, one of the worst games ever made, but that seems to have some faithfull followers. Guess its one of those highy underrated games. Anyway, a game that I really want to play is Parasite Eve 2. It doesn't work on pSX, and has issues on EPSXE. Worse than that, I had to sell my PS1 to make money for a PS2. I thought it would be ok, since the PS2 plays PS1 games... Later I found out that there are LOTS of PS1 games that don't even work on the PS2 (Parasite Eve 2 is one of these games...).

nash67: Shadow Madness was last reported on for version 1.11 of the emulator - what about a version 1.13 report? Try playing direct from the CDs as well as from images (try different drives if possible,in case of protection issues; -RW drives usually do better than -ROM drives) and try using a BIOS for a different region/video standard than your game version. This seems most likely to work when using a PAL BIOS to play an NTSC-US game. Try the -r switch, as well...

Well... I can recall a few games that didn't quite work so well for me on pSX. I guess the biggest one I'd look forward to is Tactics Ogre. It works perfectly fine... until you try to use a memory card. Because the problem is mostly the game's coding, I'm figuring the game may never properly work in pSX regarding memory cards, but if I had to pick a game that I'm looking forward to hopefully working someday in pSX, that would be it.

I have no games that I'm looking forward to playing. It makes me a little sad inside.

Word. In me opinion, the PSX got the best Need for Speed games on the series; they went downhill after that...

It was sort-of crap when they hit PS2, but Most Wanted was pretty damn good... my favorite NFS game, to be honest. The PS1 versions are damn good too though...

Most Wanted is good indeed. But after it I decided to get Carbon (and worse: the lame PS2 version!!). Geez! The game made me go back to the PS1 NFSs!!

Well, there is one version of Carbon guaranteed to suck more than the PS2 version... the PSP version. It feels so short, and the analog control is so touchy (and can't even be adjusted). Customization also sucks. The best part of the game is the graphics. I realize it's a PSP game, but still... as for the PS2 version, I only watched it, but I'm assuming that it has to be better than the PSP version. The only reason I got the PSP version of Carbon, is I found out that the PSP version of Most Wanted had *no* free roaming. I didn't even read any more about it, cuz at that point the game became non-existant to me.
To add a little focus back to the point of the thread... I'd like to add Vandal Hearts 2 as a game that I'd like to be able to play on pSX.

To add a little focus back to the point of the thread... I'd like to add Vandal Hearts 2 as a game that I'd like to be able to play on pSX. Looking at the comp. list, I see that VH2 isn't playable because of the copy protection, but isn't there a patch somewhere that removes the copy protection? Anyway, another game that I would love to play on pSX is Front Mission 3. I do play it on the PS2 sometimes, but I would love to play on pSX because the framerate of the 3d scenes is better on it.

Suikoden. I mean, it runs, but the flickering on the top side of screen is really driving me insane, I can't believe I have to return to ePSXe for this game.

I tried it a while ago, but couldn't get it to work. I think either the patch sucked, or it *did* work... I'll have to go back to my thread and see, cuz I could've swore I reported on Vandal Hearts 2 when I did the BIOS testing.
Edit: Nope, I couldn't get it to work. If there was a patch, it was one that didn't work or wasn't meant for copy/mod protection. I should see if it'll play on my PSP instead... ^^

Funny, all three games you mention have "issues" in pSX. Front Mission 3 - SLUS_010.11: Minor graphics problem; random freezes in battles Xenogears - SLUS_006.64: Intro is very jerky, -r option doesn't help; Disc 2: use -r option to avoid freeze after defeating Hammer & cutscene Legend of Legaia - SCUS_942.54: When you reach Conkram and are about to go into the past, skip the cutscene or the game will hang; "r3000" error psx.silvanthalas.com/psx.html
