I have not been having the problems listed in the master compatability list but on getting to the last parts of the Clock Tower in Castle 1 (starting a little before the broken stairs to the room where you fight Richter), I am starting to get weird graphical glitches. So far, this problem is contained within this area although some earlier screens that were fine have become glitchy as well. Basically, all the background tiles become messed up although their placement is correct. Character, enemy and object sprites display perfectly. I will try to post a screenshot ASAP.
I am running pSX on Windows XP SP2 and my system requirements exceed requirements.
Anyone know how to solve this problem or at least what is causing it?
Thanks.

Well, for starters, mrgilmorean, you could read Things to Remember when Posting Reports prominently linked at the top of this and every other page in the forum.
The most important things are game ID, what format you're playing the game in (CD, mounted image, or image played directly - and if an image, what format), what BIOS you're using and what, if any, changes (apart from controller configuration) you've made to the default configuration.
Also, are you playing on memory card saves or save states?

I didn't play that far with this emu. But I have glitches in many places with drawing text. Just see the intro text for example.

thesource, downloading Playstation games is illegal, and this forum does not condone it. Particularly, you should not post links to download sites - I would advise you to remove that link before an admin sees it.
Downloading games is dumb as well. You have no guarantee the images are good - in fact, since Playstation games come in non-standard CD formats, you have to take a little care to rip them properly, and I don't really see the sort of people who post games online as being the sort of people who would bother.
Since it's a downloaded image, the odds are that that's what your problems are down to - naff images. At any rate, it's not worth posting game reports for downloaded games, because any problems are just as likely to be due to the game's provenance as to any inherent faults.
And the dumbest thing is that it's so easy to get legitimate Playstation games - just look on ebay, or there should be shops in your area selling new and second-hand games - and the bottom line is that they're cheap.

I'll skip my opinion about "illegal" downloading. Let's just say epsxe displays everything properly with the very same image.

Bottom line is that we don't offer support to people with problems with illegally downloaded images, thesource.
The fact is that ePSXe usually plays Playstation games considerably less accurately than pSX does - which is the likely reason why it doesn't show image faults that pSX does.
The answer is obvious - if you want to play downloaded games, use ePSXe.

Hmm. epsxe is not ideal emu of cource but I don't think my image is corrupted. Besides in version 1.10 there was a bug with ending of the first battle. But image distortion there was fixed in 1.11, so I guess I just have have to wait until other bugs are fixed (I doubt this is the only game that has such problem)

"Bottom line is that we don't offer support to people with problems with illegally downloaded images, thesource."
In my country it is NOT ILLEGAL to download psx images. It is only illegal to copy and sell them on CDs. I understand that you can't use this image for testing but it is not the reason to call me criminal you know.

But the point is that this forum is hosted in a country where it _is_ illegal to download Playstation images. That's why we don't offer support to people with problems with illegally downloaded images. And when did I call you a criminal?
So how do you know your image is not faulty? Have you compared its checksum to a known good source? That's why, apart from the legal aspects, we can't use reports generated from downloaded images - they have no provenance.

I'm glad to say that all problems in this game I encountered were fixed in pSX 1.13. Thank you, pSX Author

That's NTSC-U version ID, not the PAL version that is discussed in the topic. Did you change the game somewhere in between (downloaded a new copy perchance, as you did with the earlier copy), or were you originally playing the NTSC-U version as well?
Changing from PAL version to NTSC-U version could possibly explain the lack of graphical errors. PAL version has had them in the past, but NTSC-U version has been free of those (it has its own share of problems though).
