Game Title: Mortal Kombat Trilogy Game ID(s): SLES_02509 pSX Version(s): 1.13 Game loads up perfectly, goes thru all of tho company logo's, then finaly gets to the MK dragon logo that appears just before the main menu comes up. Instead of the main menu tho, you get a crash and the errors generated look like this:

Are you playing from CD or from an image, viciousxusmc, and if an image, what format? What BIOS(s) are you using?
This is a PAL version, BTW - the last report on this seems to have been for version 1.5 of the emulator, and the only information is that it doesn't work - so this is useful. However, the game isn't listed as being copy protected, which is a common cause of crashing/stopping at the introductory screens.

Image directly from the HDD, bios is the recomended one, format is a .bin or a .iso (I have both) I guess I should add that it runs fine with epsxe but I dont really like that emulator much.

@smegforbrain: Please note... the version entries in the compatibility list are mixed up for region on this game (only the tested versions are mixed up a bit, everything else is obviously correct). A search on posts in the last 500 days plus checking Ultima's list has helped to create this list, the correct "versions tested" list for this game:
PAL: v1.13, v1.11, v1.10, v1.5 NTSC: v1.7, v1.6, v1.4 - v1.1
Obviously, they're all with the same problem of not working, but as unimportant as the listing may be in some ways, if you're at all like me (extreme dislike of misinformation when unnecessary), I figured you might want to know so you can fix the entries.
Looking back, I almost would've thought it was a sound problem with the game that was causing the freeze (like XA problems), but with most all games having those problems working now, it's weird to see a common game such as this one still not working. Not complaining... I'm actually just a little surprised. If I can find my copy of the game sitting around, maybe I'll play with it a bit and see if I can make any progress on it (or get a better idea of why it isn't working).

US version has the same issue, patrick. Yes, but that's all the information there is for the OP's version. The other PAL version (SLES_005.28), which is quoted as tested in v1.10, says "Freezes at the black loading screen, but the music keeps playing" and the NTSC-U version (SLUS_003.30) is quoted as tested in v1.1-1.7, 1.11, and says "Freezes at the title screen; dosbox errors." I'm not complaining, I'm just saying that this report is useful because there doesn't seem to be much previous information for this version of the game.

GAME WORKS 100% ON PSXFIN 1.13 NO KIDDING, w FULL AUDIO
First make sure you do a proper dump of this game, you should have 1 .bin file and 29 .wav files. Make a .cue sheet also and rename it like so
FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 01).bin" BINARY TRACK 01 MODE2/2352 INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 02).wav" WAVE TRACK 02 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 03).wav" WAVE TRACK 03 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 04).wav" WAVE TRACK 04 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 05).wav" WAVE TRACK 05 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 06).wav" WAVE TRACK 06 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 07).wav" WAVE TRACK 07 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 08).wav" WAVE TRACK 08 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 09).wav" WAVE TRACK 09 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 10).wav" WAVE TRACK 10 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 11).wav" WAVE TRACK 11 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 12).wav" WAVE TRACK 12 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 13).wav" WAVE TRACK 13 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 14).wav" WAVE TRACK 14 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 15).wav" WAVE TRACK 15 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 16).wav" WAVE TRACK 16 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 17).wav" WAVE TRACK 17 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 18).wav" WAVE TRACK 18 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 19).wav" WAVE TRACK 19 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 20).wav" WAVE TRACK 20 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 21).wav" WAVE TRACK 21 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 22).wav" WAVE TRACK 22 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 23).wav" WAVE TRACK 23 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 24).wav" WAVE TRACK 24 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 25).wav" WAVE TRACK 25 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 26).wav" WAVE TRACK 26 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 27).wav" WAVE TRACK 27 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 28).wav" WAVE TRACK 28 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 29).wav" WAVE TRACK 29 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00 FILE "Mortal Kombat Trilogy (USA) (v1.1) (Track 30).wav" WAVE TRACK 30 AUDIO INDEX 00 00:00:00 INDEX 01 00:02:00
Next Mount the .cue sheet you made in the same folder as your games files in DAEMON TOOLS 4.xxx. Next make sure you have your psxfin 1.13 settings as follows...
psxfin.exe -ci (mode -ci is used) controller SCPH 1010: Normal Pad memory card only in slot 2, nothing in slot 1 graphics you do not need to enable frame skipping(xmencota) CDROM both settings to AUTO
When you extract your game make sure you use .wav files 16bit at 44k mhz. You should check with a file converter to make sure they are these settings or daemon tools 4.xxx won't mount them. I know some psx games like the mk's have a 24bit audio.
EDIT
MORTAL KOMBAT 3 WORKS with same options above except do not use mode -ci or any mode to run psxfin.exe. Dont forget to turn up your volume, the music is kinda low, unless you use a "normalizer" program to raise the native volume on the .wav files.

I tried yeshuachrist's idea of running the game using -ci (I didn't do anything else he said to do), and it did work. Only problem now is that the emulator's slow as hell. Any way to get the speed up in this mode?

Well as I understand things. The -ci parameter causes the emulator to directly interpret the processing of the PS and Game. Since the games were optimized for the PS's processing, the translation is vastly slower. So for emulation on this mode, you would need a faster CPU.
