Just a small note on some of the things said earlier in the thread. Although the PSX does render graphics primarily in 16-bit it is possible to use 32 bit rendering on the PC to make better looking graphics. Most notably gourand shading which can be smoothly ramped instead of the aweful banding created by the PEOPS plugin. Your PC can also blend colours better in 32bit mode (software and hardware) if used properly. Use the E}I{ soft driver (available at ngemu) to run a few games in 32-bit mode and you'll see a difference. (silent hill in the dark is a good start but there are many others). I just wish PEOPS would impliment proper 32bit functionality as currently it converts from the 16-bit buffer in ram before blitting 32bit to the screen so in esence there is no difference between 32 and 16bit in PEOPS (except with MDECs) but only becase of the way PEOPS does 32bit.

pSX emulator v1.2 works for me now - sweet!
For other people who are stuck with i810 on-board video - you have to switch to 16-bit desktop depth manually for the emulator to work.

Emulate your images using Daemon Tools, for example.
