First off, thanks for making this great emulator. I truly appreciate the accomplishment.
That said, I'm having some problems with the input...
All input functionality stops when the controller type is set to Dualshock. This includes the keyboard as well as gamepads. Is Dualshock implemented? I couldn't find any references to this in the readme or via the forum search. I apologize if this has been addressed previously.
Also, the emulator crashes whenever I select the Analog+rumble controller type with my gamepad, regardless of whether or not I have the "Rumble" checkbox checked. I'm using an XBox360 controller with the XBCD 1.07 driver. The console output is as follows:
.\src\win\joystick.cpp.658: 'joydev[dev]->CreateEffect(GUID_ConstantForce, &eff, &rumble[dev], NULL)' returned DIERR_INVALIDPARAM: An invalid parameter was passed to the returning function, or the object was not in a state that admitted the function to be called.
I installed and ran the FFConst DXSDK app, and it worked fine. I'm using DX9 with the August 2005 update.

Depends on the game. FF9 worked with dual shock for me with my Logitech Dual Action gamepad (which I dont like much anymore), but Castlevania SOTN wouldn't...nothing would register until I set it to the normal psx gamepad setting.

As far as dualshock is concerned, its a known problem and its being looked into.

Im bumping this cause i had something weird happen with this problem. Yesterday i was using the dual shock to play Ridge Racer 4 and now today it wont work with it at all. I tried deleting the ini and reseting my options and it still doesnt work. So i just thought it was weird that it worked once and now doesnt work at all. Is there any registry options maybe?

IIRC dual-shock controllers don't work with SOTN even on a real psx, you have to turn analog off for it to work. probably because dual-shock controllers didn't even exist when it was released

I've also just bought a Venom USB PS2 controller to PC converter / adapter. With a SCPH1200 Analog Controller plugged into it, it configures perfectly under Windows XP and shows up as a Twin USB Vibration gamepad. I can tell pSX to use it (via the Configuration option), but when in the emulator itself the controller is completely ignored regardless of the settings and I have to reconfigure the emu and use the keyboard instead.

I am having the same problems, with the same console output on crash. I'm using a ps2 controller connected with a "psx to usb" device from Radioshack.
