Maybe this is a bug, but i couldn´t come back from fullscreen mode to windowed mode again, the screen got stuck and i stayed again in fullscreen mode, the only hope was the ESC button to exit I loaded a game, ran well in the window, then i pressed Alt+Enter, went to fullscreen rigth... but when i pressed again Alt+Enter i couldn´t get back to windowed mode. Messing around with the options i discovered that the check button "vsync" (in the graphics tab) is the cause, so i DISABLED it. I can set now my resolution and Alt+Enter works well. BTW the mode "default" mode works with the vsync mode activated, all the rest seem to not change between fullscreen and windowed. Hope it helps

Works without fail on my end, regardless of my VSync settings. What's your system specifications? And what do you mean by "I can set now my resolution?" Were you unable to set it before...?

I was refering to anything different from "default" in full screen mode, cause it was the only mode valid for coming back to windowed mode if vsync was checked. I have a Nvidia FX 5200 with latest driver installed in windowsXP pro SP2. It took me a while to figure that the vsync checkbox was causing all the trouble for toogling fullscreen to windowed mode. That happened me regardless the resolution i choose (with the exception of "default"). With the vsync off, i can set all resolutions and can get back to windowed mode all times i want. On the other hand, with the vsync on for the fullscreen mode, i cannot get back from fullscreen. I´ll be trapped in game forever! (well at last i can hit ESC) So i suspect there´s a bug with the vsync checkbox... BTW - vsync isn´t a thing only for windowed apps ? or is also valid for fullscreen modes? - Klez

The controller button picture doesnt match with the configuration. I unchecked the Vsync back and it didnt crash when I pressed the alt + enter for full screen. But I didn't notice a difference in image quality. Do any of you see a difference running the game from 1024X768 and 1280x1024?

Differences? from what i know vsync is for sync´ing frames with the refresh rate of the monitor. It won´t made diferences in image quality. When i unchecked the Vsync option for fullscreen mode, i tested most of the resolutions and all of them worked perfect, the list doesn´t show resolutions that my Philips 107T5 don´t support When i had the vsync activated and got stuck at fullscreen what i had was the game, working well but ... trapped inside the game. Couln´t go back to windowed mode. I didn´t see the msdos window that displays messages, i think you are refering to this window. Currently i use 1152x864x32bit@75Hz (i´m playing crash bandicoot 3 PAL now) i think that the vsync checkbox for fullscreen is evil... very evil

Me, too; I have no problems switching between full screen and windowed modes with VSync enabled, on three different machines. i think that the vsync checkbox for fullscreen is evil... very evil It seems that you, specifically have problems with it, klez. I don't think that makes it evil. If you don't like it, deselect it - where's the problem? ;-)

Well, i tested it in another computer with a diferent card and happens the same. vsync don´t let me to go in windowed mode
my pc -> geforce FX 5200 (latest driver) Brother´s pc -> geforce 2 MX400 (with latest driver)
All of you have ATIs ? ...just wandering
Of course i can live without the vsync function, but maybe theres a bug somewere, i´m trying to help

Sure. But it's a bit extreme to call the VSync option "evil" just because it doesn't work for you, eh? ;-)

It must be a nVidia card issue, because i have a ATI Radeon x700 Pro.

I wouldn't say it's a graphics card vendor dependent problem -- I have an nVidia GeForce FX Go 5200, and like I said, it works fine, whatever resolution I choose (be it Default or some other choice), VSync on or off. Might be driver issues?

This might be a bit tedious, so you won't be blamed if you didn't or won't do it, but have you tried different versions of Catalyst to see if the problem lies with your drivers?
