hello to you all am new here how are you? I never knew about this emulator, just found this by accident reading a forum on the ps2 emulator (pcsx2.net). I must say this is the first time I see a psx emulator loading the bios then loading the game. I played first with PSEmuPro then afterwards Bleem! was getting better so bought the emulator . later bleem didn't update it though.. Next PSEmuPro didn't updated but the plugins where still updated. After a while ePSXE came and supported the PSEmuPro plugins with gave enormous more enhancements in video/sound/pads. At the same time Connectix developed Virtual Game Station that brought PSX emulation much further compatibility with the real thing After version 1.41 they got sold out by Sony There was another promising emulator called Pcsx (same team developed now pcsx2) but I still sticked with ePSXE since many games where supported. Now today I found out this emulator and I must say..Very nice done !! Respect to the developers ;D This emulator looks a bit like VGS, it doesn't have plugins and works like a charm. Difference was VGS had inbuilt factory bios support Anyway thank you so much for developing this program and providing for everyone I always checked emulators here: www.zophar.net/psx.htmlSince you guys weren't list I couldn't find the emu For VGS patches here: www.aldostools.com/vgshighres.html

Yeah, pSX is really great. It doesn't enhance the braphics like EPSXE, but does have its own qualities. My favorite is the fact that it completelly removes slowdowns on most games, making some games more fun. Also, if you disable frameskip, you'll notice that most games have a better framerate than the real PSX. Very nice emulator indeed.

lol true, I hadn't seen the PlayStation logo in such a long time, and it was a pleasant surprise when I first tested pSX As for Zophar's Domain... well, those guys haven't updated since December of last year, and even then, they didn't do much in terms of emulation news. If you look back on the homepage, the last update on new emulators was more than a year ago. The rest was news about some festivity thingy or ripped game audio.

lol true, I hadn't seen the PlayStation logo in such a long time, and it was a pleasant surprise when I first tested pSX Well, it IS kinda nice, but since I have a Playstation for about 8 years, I kinda got bored of it. Believe me, when you see it for the first time you think its nice; when you see it for 8 years, its the most boring thing in the world!! As for Zophar's Domain... well, those guys haven't updated since December of last year, and even then, they didn't do much in terms of emulation news. If you look back on the homepage, the last update on new emulators was more than a year ago. The rest was news about some festivity thingy or ripped game audio. This is though... ZD was a great page, and used to be updated every single day! Even rom hacks and translations where updated. Too bad its pratically dead now... /me starts to remember about other great thing that sems dead now... sigh... Chankast...

Emutalk.net, while mostly about Nintendo related emulation, has sections for other emulators as well.
Plus, somebody there routinely updates the forums for new versions of emu's.

NGemu ia an ok site, but they don't have emulators for older consoles (like Genesis, Snes, etc).
Also, the ngemu forum would be good if it wasn't for the Admins there, they are just a bunch of assholes that feel good when they abuse the power.

IS it just me or the bios does not load completely before stopping the music and starting the game?

I've always liked planetemu.net, although it's a french site... I like the older consoles very much, and there they have great related stuff (they may be out as of now for a short period - I hope).

cool, didn't knew UltraHLE still existed seems another team has been updating it including the famous ini file, That was one the greatest N64 emulator before. It was famous of the HLE technology. The emulation was so good that Nintendo shut them down They proved that N64 emulation was not impossible and they where planning new versions that supported more games, but never came... Am so glad that Project 64 and NEmu released afterwards. Those 2 even got beyond UltraHLE and supported newer games. Eventually Project 64 worked most games perfectly MAME emulation is good but too bad they don't support most games that is close to 2003-2006. If you liked playing Neogeo games from SNK / Capcom games then Kawaks , Nebula, Callice and NeoRageX (EGCG versions too) was good alternative. I used to go to NGemu in past years getting my plugins for ePSXe, cause sometimes you needed the older plugins when the new plugins failed but after times I eventually forgot that site

I still remember: Nintendo said that it was IMPOSSIBLE to emulate the N64... 16 days later, UltraHLE was released... and already ran lots of games, including Zelda and Mario 64 (Mario was almost perfect BTW). Nintendo got soo mad that they shot them down 4 hours after the emu was first avaliable. But these 4 hours where enough to spread UltraHLE to the public...

hahaha ya didn't they put a copy of the letter on the website they received from Nintendo. I still remember UltraHLE source code wasn't provided (don't know if it happened later) so at dextrose.com (the good'ol time website is gone, now you find only utilities ) you could get disassembled version of UltraHLE code. That could help new developers emulating N64. I think most new developers where very interested about how the emulator worked using the HLE but later more hardware technical details where released
