Unless it's been fixed recently, disabling the 'Pause when not focused' option doesn't work anyway, icedagger, so if things work with it enabled, might as well leave it that way.

...? Has it ever been broken...? The option is working perfectly fine here (continues if I have it disabled, pauses when I have it enabled) O.o

Hm. maybe it's the 'Sleep when idle' option I'm thinking of. I recall that, whichever it was, we were discussing the CD player, and what a pity it was that it stopped when the emulator didn't have the focus. Or maybe it's been fixed...

I'm testing it again and found that it doesn't completely hang. It take times before the main window appear (Time duration before it can recover itself seems to relatively depend on how long I switch to other app i.e. 10-20 sec. or 1-2 minutes or may be longer).
I uncheck 'Pause when not focused' checkbox sometime to let the game load/play movie while I do other work. But again, this is not serious problem for me, developers can set this bug report to low priority or reject it as you see fit.

patrickp: I'm pretty sure you're thinking of the fact that when it runs while not in focus, there's no sound. And to my recollection, pSX Author didn't actually tell us whether that was a bug or intentional... I have noticed this same problem, which has happened randomly to me since v1.7 (which is merely when I noticed it through CEP testing... it might've *always* been there though...). I can't remember what I did to make it not happen, but it might've had to do with minimizing it instead of merely letting it lose focus... not sure.

I found no problem here so far. No cutting out sounds or musics. I run this for the third time checking.
But I do get the problem when I making a video from it. Seem like when I try to make a video using with SnagIt 8. It start lagging the music before the title screen. SnagIt 8 and pSX must be fighting. lol
I recommend everyone don't have a lot of stuffs running hidden.

kinghanco: Are you telling us... that when you minimize pSX, you can still hear the sound? I'm not even sure that's possible...

Oh I was saying that SnagIt 8 causes issues on pSX when I trying to make a video of this game. It lags and cutting out on the sounds. I just trying this out and was going to send the video to prove this game does have sounds on my end. I wondering why you don't have any sounds on your end? First release cd that you have?
The game sounds just fine here and I don't have a lot of stuffs running hidden. (Greatest Hits: Final Fantasy Tactics. Maybe that why the sounds are fine here..)

I'm telling you... sound does not play when pSX is minimized. I just tested it again on v1.10, and the game I've been playing lately (and hence had in my drive to test), *is* Final Fantasy Tactics, the Greatest Hits version. Every person who has tested this has confirmed it... sound cannot be heard when pSX loses focus. It was even a major topic of discussion, in relation to using the BIOS CD Player to listen to music without having to keep pSX in focus.
Confirmed also in v1.11 WIP.

I hit the minimize on the top right side of pSX. Yes there no sounds because the game is on pause when minimize. The game not even running when minimize. I un-minimize it and the sounds is fine. Is isn't a bug on my end. I don't why you having this problem on 1.10 and the 1.11 wip. The issues are at your end.
Btw: I thought that you said that your having some problems getting the sounds card to work? Maybe that wasn't you said that.

kinghanco: Please, please, please stop quoting the post directly above yours -- it's even worse when you start making a quote pyramid. You don't NEED to quote someone to say you're responding to them, especially when your post is directly after theirs. All you need to do is write their name in some fashion (not unlike how I directed this post at you, for example). It's a waste of time, space, and bandwidth mirroring an entire post, especially considering how slow Proboards can be sometimes -- we don't need to aggrevate it any more than is necessary ;o If you're going to pick a specific quote out of a post, that's cool, but entire posts is (again) redundant

Sorry.
Where is 1.11 WIP at? I need to test this out on this game to see if I get the same problem as they do. I don't know why they are having that problem. Seem very odd to me.

Ultima: Bah... I suppose it could be called v1.10.1... but I just call it v1.11 WIP, cuz... it was made two weeks after v1.10's release. kinghanco: Umm... you seem to be missing the whole point here. If "Pause when not focused" is unchecked, pSX is *NOT* paused when you minimize it. BUT... even though the game continues on, you cannot hear any sound while it is minimized or out of focus. *THAT* is my point. And that... is not a problem on my end. Everybody can vouch that it happens. People have already vouched that it happens. There is no way to make it *not* happen.
