Try to make a save state and turn pSX off. Then start it and insert another memory card and load the save state. Go to a save point or save how you can do in the game and: It's the new memory card! So it doesn't save the memory card, it will always load from the file in "memcards"-file!

Yes, exactly what should happen, ratchet94.

ID is SLUS_11.59
I wasn't able to recreate the error. How this happened, I don't know.

pSX does not store the memory card state in state saves, however: if the game caches data from the memory card then these sorts of problem can happen. eg. Tomb Raider does this (if you load a state save then load your save from the memory card screen it will load your position as it was when you saved the state save because the game does not re-read the card).
There is not really much I can do about that - but often selecting a different save slot will cause the game to re-read the memory card.

I attempted to do ratchet's fix, but it crashed the game and left me with a 96 meg crash dump file. Can anyone else assist with this issue?

And how is that a problem, pwngrim? ratchet94was simply describing a scenario of how the game works as would be expected; that's not a fix for anything.
If you have a problem with a game, you need to post a report in the appropriate section (Game Compatibility) and provide at least the required information - more is important if you have a problem; we can't help you if you don't provide what's needed to understand your problem. All we know ATM is that you say you have a problem with "the game" crashing.
