I just copied stuff out from a list of gamerips my friend had which listed redbook audio tracks seperatly. I loathe the Playstation and possibly the only game I actually enjoy on it is Strider 2.

Well, most my wishes for pSX had been fullfilled (specially now that my beloved Valkyrie Profile is working. THANKS pSX AUTHOR. I COULD KISS YOU!! ). But lets see if I can thing of anything I would like to have on 1.5: -Well, the .CUE file shouldn't be required; -The bios shouldn't be required (but I think THIS would be impossible... ) Well, I guess this is it. I can't think of anything else. Its just that IMHO pSX is already the best PSX emulator out there (yeah, IMHO its better than EPSXE), so there's nothing I would change. I like the fact that this emulator feels just like the real PSX... edit: Oh, wait. I got one. I would like to have optional Scanlines, or even better, a TV mode (like Visual Boy Advance). This would be nice.

To be honest I don't see why everyone's goin insane over the .cue thing... just mount the .bin with Daemon and wham no need for .cue heck I don't see why you can't just mount all images this way, just save yourself trouble if you have mdf images or whatever, some games seem to be a bit quirky like this though, had to enable emulation options in Daemon to get LoD to boot once... after that it worked, dunno just a freak occurence I suppose. Besides that, I'd like to see an ability to use DirectX to render the graphics. For instance, play Legend of Dragoon in pSX then switch over to ePSXe and play it with DirectX, the textures on the thing look awesome in DirectX, but I dunno that's just a little thing I'd like to see, don't really expect it to happen. Save state thing has already been addressed so no need for me to go on about it. Someone else said it in this thread, but I'll say that I think it's a good idea at least, different size options would be great, maybe not custom stretching but at least in increments from the pSX native resolution. Oops, also meant to say... possibly adding or personal adjustment of the "turbo mode" I'm assuming that it just bumps it up to 200% speed? I dunno, but what I usually have is (for 99% of the playstation games anyway) R3 setup as the turbo button and when i get to a dialog or something I just don't have patience to deal with I'll just hold it down, and even at 200%... games like FFT can be a pain in the ass to still sit there and watch the text slowly... creap... by... also concerning turbo, maybe having it toggle-able? That'd be nice... specially for leveling up in some of these games

To be honest I don't see why everyone's goin insane over the .cue thing... just mount the .bin with Daemon and wham no need for .cue Then you will be missing the information stored in the .cue file, resulting in missing music in games that use redbook CD audio.

In my opinion the pSX author should focus on emulation related aspects of this emu. First goal should be compatibility. Many of the feature requests can be done with external tools (daemon tool, cheat programs, memory card converter,...). - to increase compatibility please add subchannel reading to allow copyprotected games. exspecially many PAL games do not work without subchannel reading. IMO this emu shouldn't rely onto cr**ed stuff (and be it for the authentic feel). - it would be great if a TV filter could be applied to get authentic TV feeling onto my monitor. Maybe blarrg's NTSC filter (see the ZSNES forum) can be adapted to be useful for the playstation as well (just make it optional like the bilinear filtering for those who do not like it): board.zsnes.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6433I think that these things would get this emulator closer to an authentic playstation experience and should be high on the priority list.

My number one wish is for support for memory cards in standard formats used by other programs rather than only accepting saves made on this particular emulator. It is a huge barrier to migration when none of my old saves will work.

It does work with memory cards in other formats, disastranagant. Have you tried?
My ePSXe .mcr files work fine.

Have you tried the memory card converter in the new sticky. It's the only thing that you can do in the time being until/if pSX Author decides to add support for other memory card formats.

I checked it out. It works, though sorting through 25 cards and converting them all (90% are dexdrive files from before I stopped using my real ps1) looks painful.

Saying you don't need a cue file is like saying you dont need the inner ring of a CD and you can cut it out safely.

Then what will make it spin around? I think you do need the inner ring of a CD.

That and theres a small thing called TOC (Table of Content) which tells what tracks are on the disc.
Or I could go on, how do you tell if the bin file is a 2048 byte mode image or RAW 2532 byte mode image? It's written in the cue sheet.
You may as well say GOD WTF IS AUTOEXEC.BAT IM DELETING IT and then wonder why your computer doesnt boot.
Don't try to fuck with things you dont know how they work, you'll just brake them.
