Are there any plans yet to add rar/7z/ecm support to pSX?
ECM shaves off alot of MBs from psx cd images. If you rar or 7z the .ecm file again you get an even smaller file. (some sort of double compression).
It would be awesome if pSX could read those compressed files directly.
Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of cdz (I already compressed most of my psx collection to cdz- thanks to Ultima's little batch code).
But compressed files like I mentioned above are still way smaller than cdz. (I know HDDs are sooo cheap these days - but wasting disc space is pointless).
Thanks for reading and again alot of respect to pSX Author

I'm not a programmer but I don't think this is possible.
With the various common archive formats, the whole CD image would have to be unzipped to a temp folder or your computers memory every time you wanted to play that particular game.
Imagine having to wait for that. Try extracting a 1kb text file from a 1GB archive.. yes you have to wait for the whole thing to deflate..
The .cdz format is a stroke of genius because pSX can read from it as it is.
