Is there any way to get this emulator to accept the emulated cd-drive from daemon tools as a real cd-unit? I just get a message that the emulated drive isn't a real cd-unit.
I have a few games in "odd" formats that daemon can mount but can't be used directly from the emulator.

No, it wont. But I think maybe you should tell author to add it to the next version, perhaps ?

I tried Daemon Tools, and it never came back with an error saying that the drive isn't real... Just the same ol' error that pops up when trying to use a normal CD drive... "CD not usable: Failed to initialize ASPI driver"
CD drives, whether real or not, won't work properly with pSX right now. It's best to wait until the author adds full support for CD drives, in which case your request wouldn't be needed, since in every respect, Daemon Tools drives appear to be normal CD/DVD drives to any other application.

ultima: I think you're missing the aspi-interface. It's a software layer that helps software communicate with SCSI and ATAPI devices. I'm not entirely certain it will make pSX work for you with real CD:s, but I reckon it should do the trick.
Google and you shall find! I think adaptec had a pack for it once upon a time.

Didn't author mention something about the emulator not having support for physical and virtual CD drives just yet? You're best off converting to .bin/.cue.

@lars: Does a real CD drive work for you? Very odd... as guestman said, the author said that CD drive support is probably broken. Anyway, I don't think I have an ASPI interface, but if it does work for you with it, maybe it should be further tested by other people (I'm not in too much of a hurry to test it, so it probably won't be me), and if it indeed does work, [update/put it in the] FAQ.

ultima: I haven't tried a real CD, but you are probably right, the CD emulation doesn't work. If (however) you get a message about missing aspi, then that means the emulator is at least trying to use aspi. When the CD emulation is at some future point fixed, you'll probably have to install aspi to use it. It would be like expecting a OpenGL-application to work without having installed your graphics drivers.
Anyway, noone expects a new emulator to be perfect, but this one comes damned close. CD support or not, this is the most impressive first release of an emulator I've seen! These guys have made an incredible job! I salute them!

Yeah, CD support will eventually be integrated. Then it'll be much easier to use, I expect.
