That's the swap method usljoo, you need to buy a GameShark disc for 30$ to be able to do that.
Anyway if you want to play the game on your PSX use the original disc.

hallo can someone tell psx author to do that?? Huh? Do what? Implement the Dual-Shock switcher ( known and previously requested) and browser? If so, then don't bother asking us to do the requesting for you; the choice is up to pSX Author, and he already reads the forums on his own. I'm not seeing how the requests are relevant to the topic at hand, either... ShendoXT: Good point about the BIOS location being read-only; completely slipped my mind

An Action Replay MAX does the trick pretty well too. And import PS1 games can be played using a Gameshark Lite (PS1), which you can buy for under $10 quite easily.

A Japanese PlayStation also works well - the swap trick makes my PAL discs work on my apparently Korean SCPH-7500 machine. If only it didn't have reversed colours though (red is yellow, even through a video capture card!).
You need to have the CD cover up though, and some Blu-Tackā¢ to keep the close button stuck down. Otherwise, it will just reject the swapped CD each time by spinning up and cutting out all the time (then you have to reset it, put the original NTSC-J disc in and try again!). I don't have any CD-R's to test though so I can't say it works with burnt copies. I like my originals, so much better looking on the front! Nothing is more boring than the platinum (PAL) versions though, only the first releases are picture discs.
I used Tekken 1 (SLPS-91020, with a PSX.EXE on the disc) for the swap trick (no surprise there I gather!). I don't think pSX really likes games with a PSX.EXE - it has no way of telling what the game ID is!

The real Playstation can basically tell if the game is real or not from the disc itself... If the disc is burned, the Playstation can tell that from the way the disc was made. But a pressed disc (which is different than a simple burned disc) does the right things for the Playstation to know it's real. That all, of course, is a *vast* oversimplification, but for all intents and purposes it gets the point across. Pressed disc itself still won't make a difference, there is more to it:

ShendoXT: ::Rolls eyes:: I know all about that. But why would I take the time to explain all that to him when he's not interested in all those details anyway. He's lucky he got "pressed disc" when I could've just stuck to saying "original". In evidence, I offer this quote from the same post of mine that you quoted... That all, of course, is a *vast* oversimplification, but for all intents and purposes it gets the point across.

Well, I just wanted to tell the whole "pressed disc story", and since you were talking about it I quoted your post.
But yeah, I see now that you explained it in the simplified manner so that everyone can get the basic idea.
