SON OF A...!!! NOT easy... Not easy at all!! But lets see (no partucular order, at the moment): -Dragon Quest 8 -God of War -Phantom Brave (Marona is too cute for words. ) -Atelier Iris -Soul Calibur 3 The problem is that I've probably forgot some great game. Even though the PS1 had my favorite games, the PS2 has more good games, so its harder to do a top 5 IMHO. Shadow of Colossus would be on the list too, if it wasn't for the framerate issues. I can't wait for a PS3 version though... /Kills Mika

Oh boy... So I guess I'll try and keep it at 5 this time.
- Need for Speed: Most Wanted (Black Edition) - Ar Tonelico - Arc the Lad (both games) - Disgaea (both games) - Suikoden IV - Xenosaga (all three of them) - Star Ocean: Till the End of Time
Sorry, I couldn't keep it at 5. Those are all #1 in my book, as I couldn't even begin to rank them. They're all just so damned good.

Have you tried "La Pucelle" and "Phantom Brave"? These are also great games from Nippon Ichi, specially Phantom Brave (albeit its NOT a game for everyone).

psicomaniaco: I had considered trying La Pucelle Tactics, but I can't remember why I didn't get around to it. Maybe it was just having too many unplayed games at the moment... XD. Wasn't sure about Phantom Brave. Either I didn't look into it much, or there was something about the gameplay I didn't like. I'll take another look at it sometime soon.

Hm, this changes every now and then, but I'll try my best^^ 1) Star Ocean3 : Even though this game has some problems, I still love it. I would like to see a remake which fixes all those "story-holes" and brings in more PA's... 2) Tales of Legendia: Nasty bug and too linear, but it has some really nice chars 3) Wild Arms5: Surprisingly good. 4) Persona3: Nice and long game. Even though I hate silent main-chars, this game proved itself to be quite good. 5) Now it's becoming pretty hard... Shining Force Exa? (Cyrille ) Atelier Iris2? (Fee ^^) Or better Xenosaga3? (cool Gameplay) Oh well, maybe Ar Tonelico... (Shurelia), but I really don't know *g edit: Even though it's obvious, Rpg's are my favorite games^^. However, I do like those "Omega Force" games (e.g. Samurai Warriors) + a few other games as well. But they just don't quite fit into the top5

Oh come on! Shurelia may be cute, but adult Misha...? Phew, now *she's* a lovable character. Good looks, loyal, sharp attitude, loving... reminds me of my significant other... <3 Besides... if you ever want the "cuteness" back, you can always just revert her back to child form... ^^
Wild Arms 5... yes, a very good game. It almost made it onto my list, but I guess I'm still a little too geared towards Wild Arms 2.
Wild Arms AC:F is *really* good... it belongs up there with my other choices.

Well, Misha is nice, but Shurelia is simply... better . However I do understand why you like Misha (ok, I even chose the Aurica-path... but Aurica being sarcastic... even so it's rare, it's really (really) good ) Well, I like girls who "act" tough, but aren't really = Shurelia. (as well as Fee (Atelier Iris2), Maria (Star Ocean3), Cyrille (Shining Force Exa) etc. ) However my english isn't really good enough to go much deeper into this...

Well, I have to admit... my first playthrough, I chose Aurica's path initially, but pretty much switched over to Shurelia and got her good ending instead... I *really* liked Shurelia, but on my second playthrough I picked Misha, and I haven't looked back since... ^^ Star Ocean 3, I had a hard time picking between Maria and Sophia, but I ended up sticking with Sophia. Ahh, Shining Force Exa. That game, like Shining Force Neo, is a thorn in my side. I'm one of those Shining Force fanatics that feels a Shining Force game is Strategy-RPG. I don't *hate* the games for having the Shining Force name, but I hated that I bought Shining Force Neo without looking it up, and turned it on expecting a SRPG, only to get a hack-and-slash game. Pretty decent game, but only enough that I played it for a few weeks before returning it... LOL. OH! I really have to say that Valkyrie Profile 2 is up there on my list of #1 PS2 games. I know... I can't just keep adding games to the list, but as they come to mind, I just have to mention them. The game was extremely fun. They did a good job of keeping the VP storyline interesting without deviating, while making the game different and still fun to play for a VP veteran (even being quite a bit different from the first game... XD).

I have played Shining Force ever since the first game was released for the Genesis (it was even released officially here in Brazil), and I've played all of them, including the Sega CD version, and the SF Gaiden 3 on the Game Gear. Now I'm replaying Shining Force 3 on the Saturn, and then I'll finally play the Scenario 2 in english (the complete translation was released a short while ago). After all this, its NOT easy to accept a game called Shining Force, but that isn't a Strategic RPG... And I agree about VP2, even though I think the first one is AGES better... VP2 is surelly a great game, but they could have made it a little more challenging and fun.

(around 80h up to now) However, the gameplay gets pretty slow and boring later on, so I don't really know if I ever play the Misha-Path... (if there would be a Shurelia-Path I would definitly give it a try ) So3: Sophia is like your "every day- girl", I don't like her at all. I don't know exactly why, but well... Shining Force: I tried one of these gba remakes (or the gba remake^^). I found it rather boring and never finished it, so I can't really understand the hype. However, Shining Force Exa was quite fun to play. It's not the best game but still worth a try. VP2: Well VP>VP2, but it still was enjoyable. Imho it lacks the story... the gameplay itself is solid, even so it is really repetitive...

Ok, the story is a bit more complete, but all in all, the remake sucks.

True... I can't really defend the remake. I grew up playing Shining Force on the Genesis and Game Gear... and eventually the Sega Saturn. I'm an SRPG fanatic, and there was just something about Shining Force that really appealed to me. The GBA remake... the more complete story was the only reason I played through it... XD.
About Ar Tonelico... once you play through the first time, the second playthrough goes a lot faster. Similar to Star Ocean, a couple tricks utilizing the recrystalization system (obviously the item creation system in SO) can get you some good money pretty quick, and that can make the second playthrough even faster if you buy some of those grathnodes that Spica sells.
