I just transitioned to this emulator. I've been using ePSXe for quite a while, but have been displeased with some graphical/sound related issues that I cannot seem to resolve. That stated, I'm a bit of a noob to this particular emulator. The problem I seem to be having is that I have a copy of the game Ehrgeiz. But the copy I have is an NTSC. Under file type, it simply says 'file" as opposed to 'image file" and is also showing no file extension. I cannot actually navigate pSX to open this file at all. It shows nothing in the folder. in ePSXe, I navigate to the folder, tell it to show all files, double click it and it opens right up. But I cannot seem to show all files in pSX. Anyone have any idea how I can play?

Well, you should just give the image file whatever extension it is. What *is* the image format? Unless you're using an .iso format (eww...), you should have at least two files anyway, and should be loading the descriptor file.
If you don't want to figure all that out (though I highly recommend you do) or rip to a better format... Such a method as you ask for is quite standard to any "Open file" dialog window in Windows. Simply type "*.*" in the filename text box (without the quotes of course) and hit Enter. It'll then display all files in the folder you're in.

Well the interesting thing is that it doesn't tell me the format. I downloaded it in 10 pieces, and then winrar put them all together as it should. The file type simply says 'file' as I've said, and even with extensions showing, it shows nothing, so I don't know >.>
EDIT: Typing in the "*.*" (which I forgot I could do, thanks for the reminder) allowed me to see, and load the file. But when it opened, it did hte sony loading screen, and the playstation screen as well, then just went black. That doesn't make too much sense to me, because ePSXe plays the game jsut fine. No hiccups at all >.> If you know a way to find out what kind of file extension it is besides the obvious I've tried, let me know and I'll get that up here.

Read the prominently featured at the top of every page in the forum, bry287.
Downloading Playstation games is illegal and support will not be given for illegal activities in this forum.
You've just discovered another reason why downloading games is dumb - they're frequently badly ripped (why should some bozo posting illegal games care?). And the dumbest thing of all is that most Playstation games can be bought cheaply and easily - if you don't have a local games retailer who sells them, look on ebay or Amazon. I just took a quick look and spotted this game going for £6 ($12 US).
Do not ask for help with illegal games on this forum again, or promote illegal activities, or you'll be looking at a ban. I suggest you read the forum documentation, particularly Things to Remember when Posting Reports, all linked at the top of every page, before posting again.
