Mine are:
1. 480i and 576i games play in progressive scan. No interlace flickering or reduced quality. 2. Compression of all my games so I can fit a lot more games on my system. 3. The L337 translation - made my day, hehe. :-)

The thing I like best about pSX is its 'transparency,' i.e. the way nothing comes between the player and the game.
No slowdowns, no graphic distortions, clear sound - need I go on?

Basically...
1. No use of Plugins; 2. Easy to use; 3. Its the ONLY emulator EVER that removes the slowdowns and framerate issues (Delta Force comes to mind) of games.

Accuracy, accuracy, accuracy.
Its nice to see a emulator that uses the CPU like its meant to, and uses the video card ONLY as a rasterizer, and NOT to suppliment with emulation. The way PSX emulation is meant to be.

in no particular order: * .cdz to save disk space * excellent linux port * easy and straightforward to setup, no messing with plugins

What mudlord said. No framebuffer issues, no top of the line graphics card needed (as with Pete's) for full graphics emulation, runs off both original CDs and images.
If only the Nintendo 64 community had an alternative to the 'ePSXe of N64 emulation' that is 1964 and Project64. MESS put aside for the moment, Nintendo 64 emulation seemingly feels like it hasn't been touched since 1998, back in the UltraHLE (and hack SupraHLE) and Nemu days! It's still painfully slow and buggy regardless of the newer computers and graphics cards coming out every month!
Using the video card as a simple rasteriser is possible in ePSXe, it's just that no-one has really done that yet, or the plugins are preliminary, ancient (from the PSEmu Pro days), forgotten or simple test plugins 'look ma, I can code!' where hardly any games work at all.

1. No plugins; no complicated configuration needed. 2. Speed and smooth emulation. 3. Ability to compress game images.
;D
(Agreed about the state of N64 emulation. I just don't enjoy playing the games on buggy, hard-to-configure emulators. No one is really interested in developing better emulation of it any more.)

Not to side-track, but I'm surprised by the comments regarding N64 emulation. I run Project64 1.6 and find that it runs about 85% of games flawlessly or nearly so.

Nothing that hasn't been mentioned already.
However it doesn't replace the likes of ePSXe, as I do have several games that work perfectly on that and don't work properly on pSX.
The Divide: Enemies Within, Diablo, Area 51, Gundam Battle Assault..
But never minding that, what games do work on pSX, are typically head-ache free and very nice.
