This may sound like a stupid question, but are memory cards used with pSX (or for any emulation for that matter) unlimited in size? There are two reasons I ask: One, I don't want to have a bunch of memory cards, although it's still not a bad idea to have one for each game. Two, I thought about the possibility of having a thread where mem cards could be swapped for game testing purposes. If they're as small as the current memcard I'm using (128kb), it probably wouldn't be an issue. Like, for example if somebody plays FF7 to the end of the first disc on epsxe, and has several different save slots along the way. This would provide easy testing for pSX, as you could check out various things at various spots to make sure everything is working. I mention using epsxe because it could be a game that works for that emu, but not pSX yet. I've always been more of a fan of save states, but since pSX only has one save state right now, and it's a few meg in size, using the mem card might be the better option.

Memory cards for PS1 are always 128kb... there is no way to make them bigger. Even if you could you would need to change the games... they are only expecting 15 slots per card.
Even the larger cards you could buy for the system cheated - they were really multiple cards in one with a manual switch to select between them.

Ahh. I had never really thought about how big an actual PS1 memory card was in the first place. So I guess I'll go with one card per game then. I've informed billoute that I'd like to go ahead and take on the compatability list (with the hopes that I can keep it reasonable up to date). I should have the bandwidth to handle the hits in the long run. Since mem cards are that small, perhaps I'll consider adding them to my site too with links on the compatability list as needed - as needed being that if the game works fine in 1.1, I'm pretty sure it'll work in 1.2, 1.3, and beyond, and thus won't need a card for testing.
