I'm using Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex 64 bit with a nvidia chipset.
When i try to open it by clicking on the icon it does nothing.
When I try to open it with the terminal i keep getting this error
./pSX: error while loading shared libraries: libgtkglext-x11-1.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Learn how to use your OS for starters. This isn't a problem with the emulator.
To start with, you are trying to run a 32-bit binary on a 64-bit OS. You will need to install the 32-bit libraries that the binary uses in order for it to run (you can find out which libraries it uses with the ldd command).
To save you some trouble, the ia32-libs packages will contain most of the 32-bit libraries you need. The only other library you should need, libgtkglext, does not come in an official Ubuntu package. You can either manually install the libgtkglext 32-bit libraries, or you can search for the lib32gtkglext packages I've created.
Finally, since I know this will come up, pulseaudio does not play nice with pSX. You will need to stop/kill pulseaudio before running pSX, either do so manually, or create a quick bash script to handle stopping pulseaudio, launching the game, then restart pulseaudio afterwards for convenience. You can also search for the bash script I quickly wrote, or just download one of my pSX packages for Intrepid and be done with it. A google search/forums search would've most likely pointed all of this out to you, so please search first.

Thanks for the help. I'll give it a try.
I did do a search of the forum. It didn't return anything useful at the time.
