i have tried for close to a month now to get a psx emulator working. i have read whatever i can online and watched dozens of how to videos posted on youtube. but i am still having problems. i have tried multiple versions of the emulator and get the same result every time. to better explain I'll take you through what i do. i download the emulator, download the plug-ins, download the bios, then go through the installation process and set up wizard. i then download isos from various websites. when i attempt to play any of these downloaded isos, the screen just comes up black and it freezes. i have no clue where to even begin, because i don't know where and how i am going wrong. I'm a bit of a n00b but have never had any problems w/ any other emulators or roms. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Well first off, you shouldn't be using Games you downloaded unless they are Public Domain games. They are illegal to own and most of the time are improperly imaged. Second of all, you don't need plug-ins for this emulator, this emulator only requires a bios.

All versions -- the pSX emulator does not use plugins. If you're indeed using pSX, all you usually need to get it working is a BIOS image placed in the BIOS folder and original CDs, preferably. Downloading copyrighted games (and BIOS images) is illegal, even if you own the original copy. And, according to the Global Announcement at the top of the page:
We do not provide support for people who have obtained their games or BIOS images by illegal means.

hey guys, me again... I'm still really confused. im not sure what i can and cannot legally do. all i want to do is play ff tactics tactics ogre suikoden and saga frontier.. if someone could please just explain this to me you would end my frustration. thank you very much. my email is levi.gustafson@und.edu Its very clear, friend. DON'T download image files from the Internet. Create the images yourself, from your own games. If you can't because your Cd's aren't with you, just don't play the games. Its clear, isn't it?? If you, for some reason, have some illegal image, keep this info to yourself! Don't say here that you downloaded it! This way, you'll only be lying to your conscience. And if you have a problem that we can't help you with, we'll tell you to recreate the image anyway! Downloaded games is not only illegal (EVEN if you have the CD. Then again, if you DO have the CD, why download the image???), but is also stupid, because most of the times these games are badly ripped by people who just want to put any cr@p for us to download. EDIT: Oh, and even though we don't mind that you ask this here, I think it would be easier if you just read the announcement above, and some of the help files. You'll know what's legal and what isn't.
