I hope I'm not breaking a rule here, but I would greatly appreciate scanlines. And a "largest integer multiple of the game's native resolution that would fit on your screen" mode. Maybe they'd work together well.

The first request sort-of breaks the rule of being over-requested (see Known Requests linked at the top of every page). The second request wouldn't really be plausable, since the PS1 doesn't always use the same resolution (games choose (and change frequently during gameplay) what resolution to run at). So having the current option of simply being able to use the most common resolutions (which is a pretty decent list anyway) is about the best that can be done right now.

- Graphic filters
Another one you definitely do *not* to ask for. Besides a possible NTSC filter, there will be no filtering implemented in the near future besides what's already there. This emulator is made for accuracy, not enhancement. This is what pSX Author had to say on this topic: "Currently I do not want to do this - my plan for pSX is to emulate the PS1 exactly - it is possible that I will add these sorts of features in the distant future but for now accuracy comes first." (Taken from an interview here: www.cgemulation.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1207)
"Scanlines" falls under the category of "graphic filters", which is one of the number one requests made around here.

Hey, GM, I'm not sure if that falls under common sense for "graphic filters"-- it's not something *I* would think of as being a filter effect. You might want to just put that one specifically on the list.

No, it is perfectly fine. Especially since adding scan lines will filter out the touching of the vertical rows of pixels.

Firehawke: I considered it more common sense because in most emulators, when you go to turn on something like scanlines, it's in/on the same area/list as all the other graphics filters. Not to mention I wouldn't be able to think of another name for scanlines *besides* a graphic filter (and NTSC Filter is a graphic filter which usually includes scanlines). Also, while it may be emulation of how a game would actually look on some older TVs, bilinear filtering is also included for that same exact reason, and that's a filter. @truth Unknown: I'm not sure what you mean by "it is perfectly fine". Are you saying the request is perfectly fine, or the entry on the Known Requests post for graphic filters is perfectly fine? If it's the first, I'd be more than happy to go edit the post to include some common examples (and possibly on some other posts that might need it too). Oh, and because most games' resolutions tend to change so much, that second request would sort-of fall under the "Resolution Switching" entry on the Known Requests list.

The FAQ was perfectly fine, but come to think of it some examples like Scanlines, HQ, AA, AF, etc may prove helpful.

Yeah... to be honest, right after my last post in this thread last night, I went to the Known Requests thread and modified it with some updated information and clarifications (including some examples for graphics filters... forgot about AA and AF though, so I'll add those too... lol).
