Hey all! This is my first post. I wanted to run pSX on my mac, and got it running fairly easily using WINE. Here's how:
1) Install WINE:: You need macports, as it's the easiest way to get wine working. Install that first (macports). Then, open Terminal and type:
2) Install WINETRICKS:: winetricks is a script that makes installing dependencies and other requirements (.net, etc) ridiculously easy. winetricks is available from macports:
3) Use winetricks to ready WINE:: there are a few things you need to install, otherwise you'll get errors. Those packages are: d3dx9, vcrun2005. The vcrun2005 is only to avoid a console error that didn't seem to affect anything. To install:
4) Grab the Windows version of pSX, and put the contents of the zip somewhere relatively permanent. I recommend something like /Applications/pSX/.
5) Make sure you have a bios in the bios folder!
6) In Terminal:
and hit enter. Adjust the code properly for where you put the pSX exe file. It may ask you where the BIOS file is. Find it and...
7) Enjoy pSX! err...
8) Adjust speed... On my computer and my brother's, pSX seems to run at fast forward all the time. The way to fix this is to disable vertical sync (vsync) in the configuration options once you get pSX running. After that, enjoy!
I've been unable to get it to recognize a disc in the drive, but this is remedied by ripping the game first.
I hope this helps someone, and allows others to enjoy pSX as native as possible (until 1.14, apparently....)!

sudo port install wine-devel
and hit enter. It will prompt you for a password: enter your os x account password. It will take a long time (up to an hour, depending on your computer's speed).2) Install WINETRICKS:: winetricks is a script that makes installing dependencies and other requirements (.net, etc) ridiculously easy. winetricks is available from macports:
