Check the manual for the game.
EDIT: Moved to General since this is about function of the game.

The reason that it was in the previous forum is that the issue is NOT something the manual can fix. I already tried what the manual said to no avail.

This is still not an emulator issue and a function of the game. Anyway, the target marks only appears when selecting a target. They cannot be disabled and can only be hidden with the Select Button which hides the the UI. The only way to disable it would be to hack the game.

Seeing as this issue DOESN'T happen when playing with the SAME DISKS on my PS1, I would have to say it is a bug with the emulator.

Now now, you don't need to post to bump, there should be a link on the bottom of the page to do that anyway. Besides its just my luck to be missing the first disc so I can't load or start a new game on a console. So just be patient please so someone can verify this, but I'm pretty sure this is normal for the game anyway.
EDIT: Must be a admin thing, I tend to forget some features, anyway this topic was still on the first page, so there shouldn't be any need for a bump.

I can tell you though as i have played this multiple times on the PS1 I can tell you that it IS normal, but you have tio turn it on by holding like R! or something. It is NOT supposed to be on all the time.

I would check your key mappings, make sure a button isn't stuck or something of that nature. I can confirm for you that the issue does not occur for me. If you're using joytokey or something for some of the hotkeys, check and see if there's a conflict between the default keyboard keys and what you have set for you joypad. If you don't want the keyboard keys to work you do have manually clear them. If you don't use the keyboard to play, I would just clear all of them anyways, just to make sure nothing happens in the future.

I would like something clarified. Is this really Final Fantasy VIII (8) with Squall, Zell, Selphie, etc?
